I've been trying to keep up with the plethora of WHS threads currently on the go....and I've completely lost track of where I read what about this, that or the other.....
All threads are going round in ever decreasing circles so I'm leaving them alone.....

I dip in every so often. Not sure, after the first couple of pages of each, that the arguments are much different in any of them. I could just merge them and see if anyone notices 😄. I'm not sure that they would at this stage.

Your last sentence sums them up, the last bit is absolutely the correct thing to do 👍

Screw manufacturers who insist on the heads being softer than melted butter.

😡
I have to use stainless screws at work,& only the ones they supply.
Trouble is they’re so soft that even if you pilot it you have to use 2-3 screws each time as you’re scared of it snapping 🤯
Plus they don’t stick to the magnetic driver bit 🤬🤬🤬

A gently push has normally caused IKEA furniture to thoroughly dismantle itself, in my experience.

You need to drill a hole in the screws and use an easy out, or similar to remove the screws. Check You Tube and I’m sure you’ll find some videos
