A random YouTube video popped up this morning on graphite vs steel iron shafts and I was quite surprised how the graphite shafts performed in the video. Has anyone made the switch and how are you finding it ?
I plan to get a full new set at the end of season and would like to at least try graphite shafts but I’m guessing not everywhere offers this option so might need to look around.

Best change I ever made, but there are tons and tons of options and some are not actually graphite - there's no real like for like swap and recommend a fitting to ascertain what suits you best.

I changed, partly because my swing speed is glacial. Nice and easy to use but I suspect the change was an easy one for me. I'm not really challenging the tech in terms of swing speed or weight.

My lad changed from reg steel to a graphite shaft. It seems the options and variables with graphite are so much more than steel.
He has said he wouldnt return to steel shafts.

I changed due to Tennis Elbow about 4 years ago....never likely to return either.
A good rule of thumb is to not drop more than 20g in shaft weight to avoid feel and timing issues.
I went from KBS Tour 120 to Recoil 95 without any problems...and it's helped the TE immensely

Same here, just changed recently due to issues with tendinitis in both forearms, thankfully it's easing now, will say that the flight i get with the stiff graphite shafts, particularly 5 to 7 iron, is so much better than with steel, but the T200 are high launching so that obviously helps too

I got PXG gen 7s with recoil graphite reg shafts they are very nice.
But they won’t make you open champion😂
I don’t really see any difference to steel shafts tbh.

But one really important thing is they are much kinder to your joints if you have any problems.

I played graphite shafted irons for around 15years initially stiff shafted ones than regular flex.

I went back to steel when lighter weight shafts (TTDG Gold to TTDG LITE then TTDG SL) were easily available but at one fitting I was told I should be playing heavier ones.

Still got one set from the early 2000s which I try out from time to time but get a bit too hooky with them (same thing happens for me if I go too light in a steel shaft)

My first set had variable kick point shafts in them and were great.
