Power cut here at 1.30pm. Fortunately the turkey was cooked and it went down well with cranberry, stuffing and bread! Power back on now, too late to save a proper lunch.

Unlucky but at least it came back I suppose. New estimate of 22:00

First year going out for Christmas lunch, restaurant had got into a total mess and we left after an hour, having only had a drink and been advised there was still a wait for our (pre-ordered) starters, another table said it was taking an hour between courses….

They say a freezer should last 48 hours in event of a power cut if it's full or 24 hours if empty

We're still opening presents now at nearly 11pm. Wife's family is ridiculous for buying too much stuff. Haven't even played a board game yet!

A bit disappointed tonight, I was looking forward to enjoying our local butcher's fabulous steakpie.
Unexpected guests arrived and distracted my chef/wife, sadly the steakpie was overdone.
But hey ho, it was nice to see our old friends.

Got our presents/ mother in law's to the kids done before breakfast

Then did the rest .. brilliant guests arrive at 12

Then the step nan decided to completely spoil them rotten and we ended up with the same pile again



One the twins loves to open presents the other likes to play with what she's just opened. Which is very grateful of course but daddy wants the wrapping paper chop chop

Had the same thing earlier this year when we got the MiL stamps from Amazon. Amazon must have been aware as we got an immediate refund when we reported it and returned the stamps.

1. Being the only one in my household able to sew
2. Silly Xmas presents for the kids that require a bit of sewing for "fun" but very badly designed so isn't as simple that the kids can do

Dad spends an hour sewing three stuffed toys

And the Mrs wonders why I wanted to play golf today
