Changes to WHS in April 2024

How do players calculate for an official club match play competition when rounds are arranged between themselves from the official draw?
From April...

Individual: difference between rounded Course Handicaps
4BBB: 90% of the difference between rounded Course Handicaps
Foursomes: 50% of the difference between combined rounded Course Handicaps

Our ISV (IG) gives us this information, I expect the others do to, assuming the club is using them to do the draw.

Gives you what info? IG gives you the unrounded figure?

So an official competition that isn’t stroke play gets run to different rules to an official stroke play that is stroke play and a player could have 2 different handicap numbers of using rounded and unfounded.

'unfounded' 😃 I like that. But best change it, if it's a typo......

ClubV1/HowDidiDo doesn't facilitate anything other than viewing the draw for match play knockouts. You can't even enter a match result. It's hopeless.
My club uses V1 and we can put the results in for match play comps.

That’s poor, it can’t be too complicated to have and you would think an obvious part of decent competition software.
IG is very good in this respect showing shots for all players in each round , prompting for dates (how many days left to play) and for result entry and display.
Seems like this would be a lot less complicated than having all the options for the enormous number of variations on shot allowances in the multitude of formats as well as sorting out countback in strokeplay competitions.

Sadly, it's far from being the biggest frustration with ClubV1/HowDidiDo.

We have finally had enough and are moving to IG later this month.

Just out of interest, have any Clubs got their 'updated' Handicap Boards and what information are they giving?
Looking online at some examples they only seem to include 'rounded' CH?
One of the points within the briefings is that clubs do not have to have boards if they do not want them (what happens to visitors is a topic for discussion).

One of the points being made within the briefings is that a full computation method must be used which I presume mean PSI screens.

Our manager has said we are going to QR codes for players to get the info.

There's no signing to a comp where I play. You hand over your fee and pick up a blank card to fill in.

Therefore you know why he's looking at the board.😉
A nice expensive one that now needs replacing.
Singles Comps
I have tried for years to get players to understand they only need to score the gross score on a card.
What they score nett or stableford is the committees responsibility.
The last rules revision removed the need for the player to have his handicap on the card.

Absolutely... but in Stablefords folk need to know when to pick up (or not!) 😉

A good idea.
Sand Moor near us has done the same for their LR's. QR on the card.... so easy to amend & update as needed.

This is the way a lot of clubs are going.

The big issue is QR codes to where? A bespoke calculator? Your ISV? (have they produced a calculator yet?), EG? (if they put a calculator for all formats on their App?).
