Im having the same problem!
My wife came home yesterday with a new knee and is commanding operations from the settee.
So far today I have been asked to strip the bed, hoover the floors, steam the floors, fill the washing machine and turn it on and do the same with the dishwasher.
My biggest worry is that she now knows I can do those things. Decades of acting dumb down the pan!
The key here is to do all of the tasks willingly but badly. She will only be too glad to take them back on when she is fit.

Just spend the next few days providing evidence that you weren't actually acting.

Being asked to do something which is not at all in my job description. How to politely tell my soon-to-be-line-manager (5th one this year) "I have absolutely no intention of doing that, no."
We had an ACP abmormal conditions payment.
So if a manager asked me to do anything outside my own job or section I got a £5 bonus.
For a long and complicated job it was negotiable 😳
Worked very well

Finally getting the car washed after 8 weeks and about 4000miles of driving in horrendous conditions. On my way to the club in my nice clean car …

… SPLAT! The biggest bird crap hit the windscreen and must have been the size of a dinner plate!

What the hell are we feeding the dam birds!

Mines just got a new hip today.
But I have been doing those things for forty years.
The joys of shift work let me play golf as well 😉😉

Thank goodness gracious cows can't fly.

Internet repeatedly dropping out.
It's probably okay around 60% of the time.
My landline has been faulty for about 4 weeks and the broadband is now starting to fail.
Engineer coming round tomorrow to, hopefully, sort it out ............................... unlike either of the two previous attempts.
