I have no dog in this fight but one issue that I have is the number of problems, faults and recalls EVs seem to have. I realise it is new technology but friends with Porsche and Jag EVs have had a litany of bugs that have needed fixing , some taking a really long time. The poster above has had many of these from a Vauxhall.
There are enough barriers in the public’s psyche to entry without this being yet another one.

with the greatest respect this is nothing to do with EV its the normal side of the car , would be the same in an ICE car aswell as an EV

its the same part as their ice car aswell

this is my second fault the other was EV related and took 2 months for a part as was on back order due to the global issues

that said im going to Kia for my next EV , 7 year warranty and very well made

Looking at all the money being splashed out in the transfer window.. one may think that the economy is doing rather well.

What would happen if each top flight player/agent donate one day pay? Maybe we can pay for 100s of teachers. I know it is not their job, but asking

Can you imagine the good that could be done if teams got together.

Every player from Man City and Man Utd chipping in a days pay could make a massive difference to their local hospitals.
Manchester footballers hospital wing

Or if Liverpool and Everton got together to provide new schools and new equipment
Liverpool footballers school

Or if the London clubs got together to provide food and shelter for the homeless.
London footballers homeless shelters.

Not only would it help the sick, the needy and the homeless, think how many jobs would be created all over the country in staff, construction, teachers etc.

I know it's not their job to fund these projects and the funds should come from other sources but think of the respect the players would get from the public for giving something back to the community that made them so obscenely rich in the first place.

How do people even get close to spending £300,000 a week, 52 weeks a year....and that's before bonuses.

Man Utd DAILY wage bill , 365 days a year is
£637,064 every day.
Chelsea.....£523,631 per day
Liverpool...£490,348 per day

A lot of clubs and players do an enormous amount of charity and community work already.
There are plenty of other equally well payed sports stars you could mention. Rory picked up 1.5 million for 4 days work and probably appearance money too.

They do fund all of these things with vast amounts of tax they pay.

they pay the minimum amout of tax possible by utilising tax mitigation schemes and setting up Ltd Companies

This is perfectly legal... tax planning rather than tax avoidance... Tax avoidance is when you make mistakes in your tax records by omitting some 000s at the end of the number. :)

i agree the ballers do a lot of good work... but it was just a thought after i saw an headline about some Jhonny going to Chelsea for about 88m...

In case you missed it, here's my post again

''Can you imagine the good that could be done if teams got together.''

I'm not talking about the good work individuals do, I'm taking about what a massive difference two teams combined could make to their city and surrounding areas.

And these players are on a contract 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, win or lose.
How much does Rory win if he misses the cut?

Most football clubs have community foundations that do significant work in the local area. You can argue they could do more but I would not under estimate what happens already.

Does it come close to the money spent on wages or transfers? Not even close, but it is still good work.

https://www.evertoninthecommunity.org/ This shows what Everton do for example but other clubs will do similar.

Vauxhall, brilliant

Abs system failed other day , I got the hire car etc all covered by the warranty

Found out what it was. Faulty wire to the rear wheel speed sensor

Fine cool, part on order ..

Right you can have car back it's safe to drive? Aha not a chance. Reactivate the abs then, that's an MOT failure for one so how can that be deemed safe

Update. Called me back, after me saying hold on I won't be taking the car if the abs isn't working. That's not safe.. they have suddenly found a part available tomorrow lol will be fixed then

Funny that..

One of the points about ABS and MOT failure is that tester cannot test the ABS but will fail if the warning light is on.

Do cars that do not have ABS fail MOTs?

So? They will still pay millions in tax.

Who pays more tax than they have to?
Some of us pay the tax that on the face of it we are due to pay rather than try and find ways around not paying some or much of it. Many of us have no means of not paying what we are asked to pay, why should some think that just because they have the wherewithal or tools available to dodge much of the bill, that somehow that it is morally OK for them to pay a smaller proportion of their income to the taxman than others.

Justifiable business expenses fine…other methods…hmmm.

No they don't, however it's been a legal requirement of all new cars since 2004 to have it and I've been driving since 2004 and only had abs do very much not comfortable driving without what's deemed as a legal requirement now
