Only Connect. I'll say it before it starts as I'll spend most of the time irritated but determined to get one at least...

Apart from missing vowels - weirdly good at that!

Our recycle bin boys will not pick up any Amazon-style cardboard boxes if it is not inside the bin. In the past, you could leave boxes on the side and they would toss it into the truck. No such thing now. So i have a very large pile of cardboard boxes that I now need to take the skip. It is ok, since they increased the council tax. Also wont take any glass bottles in blue bins or any metal pan on the side either.

Can you not just rip it up and put it in the bin. That's what we do.

One of the few shows on TV that I watch live, I really enjoy it. The missing letters round is either immediately seen or I wouldn’t get it in a month of Sundays,

Local news this morning is now also covering S Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. So, from berwick across to carlisle and down to Lincoln, over 200 miles north to south. They're having a laugh ?

Noticed that at the weekend. Am guessing some sort of cost cutting measure. Given the local evening news hasn't changed, the savings must be negligible. Either that, or they are testing the water.

we can, but usually our recycle is full. We r on bi-weekly collection.. so no space

Same here on the bi-weekly but we just rip all all cardboard. Our next door neighbours order a skip every now and again for cardboard. Don't even drive to the tip with it. Don't understand that waste of money when they have a big car as well:rolleyes:

Does that mean I have to be one of 'those' people and complain? I guess if they combine enough areas they can halve the costs, approx, of local news. They'll also lose a load of viewers though, deliberate move ?, as there is no natural link between such big areas.

There is duplication of reporting already. The Newcastle-based Look North covers York and Scarborough which are also covered by (and are far closer to) the Leeds-based LN. I think that may be something to do with reception areas?

I much prefer Look North to ITV Tyne Tees, but if they are going to start covering stories from Tadcaster and Leeds as they did at the weekend, I will have to re-evaluate my programme of choice.

The most irritating part is Victoria Coren's attempts at humour.

That said, I do like OC even if I only get a few of the connections right.

Monday night is quiz night in our house - Mastermind, OC and University Challenge. Enjoy them all, but do have to say the standards on Mastermind have definitely dropped. Some of the specialist subjects are a joke (we've had Take That, Bill and Ted, Lady Gaga and High School Musical recently), and the general knowledge questions are a good bit easier than they used to be.

Ditto on all counts. She really isn't funny and tries so hard to be quirky. I have to watch it though in the hope I might occasionally get a connection or sequence. That despite most of the time when given the answer still not understanding it!

I only occasionally watch Mastermind for that reason - although it is nice to get more answers!

I'm still gloating about getting Cobalt way before the teams on OC did last night :)

It's that bad it makes TOWIE a shoe in for an Oscar

Looking at all the money being splashed out in the transfer window.. one may think that the economy is doing rather well.

What would happen if each top flight player/agent donate one day pay? Maybe we can pay for 100s of teachers. I know it is not their job, but asking

Vauxhall, brilliant

Abs system failed other day , I got the hire car etc all covered by the warranty

Found out what it was. Faulty wire to the rear wheel speed sensor

Fine cool, part on order ..

Right you can have car back it's safe to drive? Aha not a chance. Reactivate the abs then, that's an MOT failure for one so how can that be deemed safe

I have no dog in this fight but one issue that I have is the number of problems, faults and recalls EVs seem to have. I realise it is new technology but friends with Porsche and Jag EVs have had a litany of bugs that have needed fixing , some taking a really long time. The poster above has had many of these from a Vauxhall.
There are enough barriers in the public’s psyche to entry without this being yet another one.
