Again what’s the hardship about holding it for a PP
It wastes time, at least it did when people asked for it to happen.

I would guess that amateurs would only hole about 1 in 50 putts that they couldn’t see the hole. Most of those would drop with the pin left it.
It is a pointless practice.

You're confusing stuff. Flag in vs flag out on makeable putts is a different story altogether. But having the flag tended on a long range putt from where you're more likely to 3 putt than 1 putt is wasting time and pointless.
