Tending the flag

But others may see the need for it and it’s still used by players and it’s still allowed within the game of golf .

Again what’s the hardship about holding it for a PP
It wastes time, at least it did when people asked for it to happen.

I would guess that amateurs would only hole about 1 in 50 putts that they couldn’t see the hole. Most of those would drop with the pin left it.
It is a pointless practice.

What time does it waste 🤷‍♂️ - surely better than the flag Hokey Cokey

Some stats been thrown about there without much evidence 🤷‍♂️

And it won’t be pointless to the person who asks for the flag to be tended

Also if it’s pointless why do pros have it tended ?

You're confusing stuff. Flag in vs flag out on makeable putts is a different story altogether. But having the flag tended on a long range putt from where you're more likely to 3 putt than 1 putt is wasting time and pointless.

Regardless of the above, I cannot actually remember the last time someone asked for the flag to to 'tended! (or any of the derivatives mentioned)
Best not play with Arthur wedge then .....

Because there are some greens where you can’t see the hole 🤷‍♂️ and some people don’t like the flag in the hole when putting
But the flag is in the hole when you putt, just not when your ball pulls up 5 foot short.
