Tending the flag

A heated flag debate? I feel like I’ve missed the fun 👀
Me too.
I haven't played since the rules changed but I'd imagine after 50 years of playing one way, putting with the flag in would feel so wrong, it even looks wrong when I see people do it.
As far as lasers are concerned, I'm not sure they slow things down.
If anything, I think a quick zap gives the exact yardage, removing the possibility of indecision and hesitation.

I have been watching some golf last day or two and flag was either in or out. Yet to see a pro have it tended.
I'm sure the odd one might do , but it seems to be the exception as opposed to the norm. In fact several were putting with the flag in at all times.
Season in full swing and I've watched a fair bit for a change. Still yet to see a pro have the flag tended.

I might be wrong but think it was him.
Fleetwood and can’t remember the other guy on his team.
Adam Scott ,Rory and Bradley, on one team
Seems an odd thing to waste time on when all the other caddies were clearly making sure all the kit was nice and dry in nasty conditions
Scott, Rory and hoveland
I'm sure some pros still have their caddy tend the flag on occasion.
Someone said earlier in the thread that they still regularly do. I have watched a lot of golf this year and as yet haven't seen it once.

Point of the OP was that the player asking to have the flag attended was being a nob and could be accused of a bit of gamesmanship…when of course it is exactly the other way round.

And whether or not I think having a flag attended is necessary, I should just put my own personal thoughts on the matter aside and just do as asked without any push-back. Why? Quite simple really. Because the nature of our game has at its core values of decency and consideration of the others we are playing with…and so in refusing to attend a flag I simply abase myself.

But hey…consideration of others and that it’s not all about self are such boring old-fashioned values?…well I think not.

No I havnt seen it much.
But it still remains an option to players.
Didn’t waste any time, he asked for it to be tendered before he even got to his ball.

Sorry I have misread this Morikawa had the flag tended in the indoor game in the stadium.😳

It does, just pointing out no one's asks anymore. Not even the pros.

Another (wrong) opinion dressed up as fact 🤣
I've said I'm sure the odd one still ask, but so far I've watched a ton of golf this year and not seen it once. That you managed to tune in to genesis for a few mins and see it , while I must have been making a cup of tea or something was just an amazing coincidence 😉
