Random Irritations

Where did this obsession with boiling water come from, is it because I use a kettle, maybe?
I actually said 'a kettle full of warm water', which ironically comes from my hot tap.
I use the kettle because it is there.
As I said, been doing it for decades and never had an issue. (y)
Yeah, I knew what you meant, I was just talking generally as I've heard a lot of people say how boiling water cracks the glass - when you don't even need boiling water. 👍🏻

I have found the obsession with the US fires painful. It's a story, but for us it isn't the headline or the bulk of a bulletin. Our news has become very US obsessed whilst ignoring what happens with our European neighbours.
Perhaps if it wasnt affecting so many rich and famous celebrities there wouldnt be quite th coverage there is. Greece got some coverage, but nowhere near as much as this.

I agree about using water that is so 'warm' it will cause the glass to crack but water at that the right sort of temperature is an easy way. Trouble is cause puddles which turn to ice so be careful.

Good point. A few doors down from us the pavement and part of the road are sheet ice due to water being used on the car screens.

As far as iced windscreens, I no longer worry about it. Recent purchase of a house with a double.....double garage. I park inside.... is this what rich people feel like?

I am envious of the double garage.
When I bought this 1970s built house the one time I used the garage I drove my car in to it realised I could not get out of the car and drove out again. The garage is now been turned in to a bedroom with an on suite shower room so it has a use.

Adverts that use car horn (or siren noise)

I appreciate adds are made for wider audiences but radio is a lot of adverts. Nothing worth than the ad break and you hear a car horn. It's really not required

Makes me want to avoid that product not buy it
