My wife is extolling the virtues of Luften. Some German concept where you have the windows open even when it’s freezing outside.

I keep closing them, she keeps opening them 🥴
I was scrolling google news when I spotted a "hack" from a "TikTok influencer" to get rid of condensation which "costs nothing" and is "a game changer".
You know it's gonna be sh☆te but you click anyway. You then have to scroll and scroll for the big "reveal".
It was.......... "open all your windows as wide as possible for as long as possible"!
Tada!
Heating's on, white frost as far as you can see, snow forecast!
I'll get a JCloth thanks.
On a par with my wife leaving the door open 'cos she's going back out in a minute!
🙄

Another driving moan…. Down the M4 and quick bit of the M5 taking the kids trampolining ;

- people in the middle lane doing 40 as it snowed 12hrs beforehand, despite the fact the snow had melted and the conditions were fine, even giving abuse after I asked them to get out of the way
- when the conditions did get bad for a portion as we drove through fog, hardly any fog lights, people driving far too close for the situation
- someone on the wrong side of the road on around Cribbs, nearly caused a head on collision
- people not moving over when others are trying to join the motorway, even when they are the only car in the vicinity
- more people in the middle lane, not a clue in the world that they are in the wrong lane, one guy was very blatantly on his phone as he happily went along at 60 9th nothing on his inside

My driving moan concerns my wife's car that we bought just before Christmas.

Driving home on the A29 this evening on wet roads.
The car two ahead of me stops to turn right.
The car immediately in front of me stops.
I then stop a few feet behind that car.
The Ford Ranger didn't stop until he was in my boot!
I was okay, Mrs Slime was fine, our dog, crated in the back, was also fine.
The car wasn't!

Glad everything that is important is ok Slime, cars just a replaceable lump of metal… maybe time for an EV? 😬

Wife ordered from a kebab shop we have used before, at 8pm. Two hours later it hasn't arrived, even though they accepted the order (via their own website). Tried calling them but their listed number goes through to some bloke's voicemail that doesn't sound like a restaurant at all. No idea what's gone on but we're fuming, starving, and 35 quid out of pocket. Not sure how we'll get that back now.
So the next morning they changed their website to a message saying 'temporarily closed until 19th January'. No sign of a refund though. Wife will try going through her bank, but she used debit instead of credit card so not sure how it'll work.

On the same day as this, her Instagram account got hacked and the email address changed, and she has found it impossible to recover as Instagram's support is worse than useless (I guess they have so many users that they simply don't care). Also a chip in the windscreen of her/our car has now become a giant crack going all the way across, so that needs replacing now.

It never rains but it pours eh.

Might be ok with card as credit card needs to be £100 debit card you can charge back

How is everyone doing that has had the cough? I've been back to the GP today as still got it four weeks down the line and also now have some pain. GP thinks it's just muscular from all the coughing but sent me for a chest xray at the local hospital. All of this was done in under an hour.

Don't know if I had "The Cough". But I did go down with a shocking cough at the end of October and finally shrugged it off about a month later. Definitely the worst cough I've ever had in my life. At one point wondered if it would ever end and thought it might be pneumonia. But apart from the tight chest and difficulty clearing it, I didn't really feel ill. I recall saying to my wife that if It didn't clear up soon I better go to the doctor, but a few days later started to feel better. It was probably just some kind of viral bronchitis.
Hope your pain ends soon.

My little girl, a couple of weeks shy of her 2nd birthday, has started some sort of sleep regression and separation anxiety. We used to put her to bed easily but now she cries and screams when we try to leave, and she stubbornly refuses to fall asleep. Whole evenings wasted in the last week trying to get her to sleep for two hours. It's becoming mentally exhausting not getting an evening to ourselves at all.

Came down with it 6 weeks yesterday, almost gone now.
