So its all going swimmingly!

Flipping heck. Have they provided bottled water?

I'd take electricity over water I guess. Hopefully some community spirit and swapping of resources? We all run on oil/electricity but one guy has a gas hob and opened up his home to those needing a cuppa or to heat baby's feeds. Warms the heart.

Nothing from Water Co. at all. Their charter says they'll deliver bottled after 24 hrs. That expired several hours ago.

Just been to supermarket (which isn't near) to buy bottled water. Water butt and garden pond being used to flush lavvy!

These things happen. Wind is still over 50mph and no signs of easing

A screw through the tyre - of a brand new car I've had less than 6 weeks. (No punctures whatsoever in eight years with the two previous cars). At least it was repairable.

And they recommended that I had the tracking done....

Yes because you can use waterbutts in your toilet (some houses are plumbed that rain water is used for flushing) and then you can get bottled water or boil rain water

Electric you are stuffed without

Our battery will provide some rest bite if it has charge. We could probably get through most of one day

If that fails I can run a plug from the niro.. that can power the fridge and kettle for a long long time .. or if cold I can plug the boiler into it to power that

If everything goes I always have the gas BBQ that has a hob on it

But by then I'd be climbing the walls 😂
Can your car put out 240V AC at 13 amps?
A great thing to have in an emergency.

Yeah it can, it is good to have in emergency, in theory I could charge the wife's car via it (or another EV) but would be a bit pointless

Whilst it's very useful at the same time my house battery can output 20amp at a time for 13.5kwh worth of energy so can run me for most of the day

Renewed my driving license... Brilliant service, got a new one within 48 hours.

What do i do with the old one? It says, cut it into half and send it to DVLA.. why? What will they do? what will they do if I dont? Seems a bit of waste of postal time and Carbon

Smart motorways

What’s so 🤬 smart about them when the gantry suddenly shows the 50 mph sign and people panic and react slamming brakes causing three accidents from cars hitting each other

Not very smart

Not very smart

I’d say that’s not very smart drivers as opposed to the motorway being the problem.
I am in agreement about smart motorways though, stupid things.

Yeah it’s not great with people too close to the car in front and it’s very hard to constantly leave a gap - seemed mad to go straight to 50 when the accident that was causing the first issue was at least 5 miles away

Fife Council’s solution to a problem that didn’t exist. Put traffic lights on a roundabout that was never an issue. In 28 years of driving I think I recall one accident on that roundabout.

Lights installed a month ago and today marks the third accident that I’ve seen and apparently the 9th in that time.

The roundabout goes under a 6 arch viaduct and so there is no clear line of sight all round. The lights now stop traffic half way round a blind corner and cause two lanes to suddenly merge in to one.

Add on to this that these is an entrance/exit from a side street (that just happens to be access to the train station) that is not light controlled and you just have to take your chances coming out of.

Overall, the work of complete muppets spending hundreds of thousands of tax payer money to make the road exponentially more dangerous than it ever was.

Speaking of "smart" motorways...

The M3. A few years ago, there was a lengthy section of 50mph while they converted it to "smart".
Now there's a lengthy section of 50mph while they add extra refuges - which are only needed because they've made the thing a dangerous smart motorway in the first place 🤦

People who occupy a seat on a busy train then, when it's 5 minutes from the station, get up and start barging their way through the carriage so they can get off before the people who have been forced to stand for the last hour.
