I cant remember when I last recorded when almost everything can be found on "catch up"?
I'm probably missing something?
(No pun intended so hold the bad jokes 😉)
The one thing you're not missing is the adverts, since you can't skip over them.

Everything we watch is recorded to hard disk for precisely that reason. Can't remember the last time I saw a TV advert.

Not at all, I'm sure lots of men love ''keeping the wife happy''
It's just not for me.
And I am entitled to that view

“Keeping the wife happy”

😂 - so you do have a negative view on married life then

Everything me and wife do will be in consideration for the other and also our daughter - there is no doing something just to keep the wife happy

MrsA and I have managed to keep each other largely happy by mostly keeping out of each other's social lives for the last 27 years.
Works for us.
One size doesn't have to fit all.
And there's nothing wrong with your choices if you're happy with them.
We decided that birthday celebrations are for other people about two and a half decades ago.

So you've never heard the expression 'happy wife, happy life'
And I've already said some men may enjoy that.
I never said they're wrong, it's just not for me.

I suspect the expression prob belongs back in the 50/60’s when the attitude towards a “wife” was vastly different

I suspect that modern married lives are vastly different

Which bit of "I understand others people are different, but this is how I feel" are you struggling with? Do you need Bob to break things down to single syllable words so you can understand him? He has said that not everyone will think the same, and they are happy but that is not for him and he is also happy. Why do you always need to pick and try and have the last word? You are not always right on everything.

This is a direct question to me to which I responded too

Bob is big and old enough to stick up for himself without your input

It’s called having a conversation with someone

He's just trolling me, disagreeing with me about everything, looking for an argument.
But don't worry, he's back on ignore where he belongs.
I don't need his negativity in my life right now.

When it came to our big bdays last year ( 50 and 40 )

We went away together for a couple days ( golfing 🤣 ) and then she went with her friends for a weekend and I went with mine for a weekend

I’m happily married but I’m a little in disbelief at the idea of marriages where it never happens that one person does something primarily to keep the other person happy
I absolutely agree.
It's like Christmas, much of the pleasure comes from giving.
It's the one-sidedness that exists that gets me.
And to say it's an outdated idea, I think is wrong.
It's still generally the man who has to give the valentine gifts, or arrange anniversary celebrations, pay for meals/drinks etc. and it's the man who has to hide his new clubs/driver/putter from 'she who must be obeyed (SWMBO).
I've said it before and I'll say it again, If they don't mind, fine.
It's like the people who disparage others who don't have/want children
