We don't have a Waitsore near us, so we either use Sainsbury's or Waitrose.

Trust me, those train driver "manuals " are not as bad as they look. Majority of the stuff you never useI'm really pleased that with the responsibility and stress it weeds out people that are just not up to the job. Safety must be paramount and you surely cannot afford to take chances.
Reminds me of when one of my golf buddies was training as a train driver. He showed me one of the manuals he had to study - it was like war and peace! And he said that's not the only one!
How hard can it be? How to make it go, how to make it stop - not like you need to worry about steering or anythingTrust me, those train driver "manuals " are not as bad as they look. Majority of the stuff you never use
Does it have a chapter on … how to go on strike every few months..Trust me, those train driver "manuals " are not as bad as they look. Majority of the stuff you never use

Can they make him retire? One of my older colleagues turns 66 next month, still fit as a fiddle and a decent engineer. Apparently our manager has told him they want him to retire next month, this is despite him having already agreed he would work past retirement age.
I feel this one is going to get messy
Can they make him retire?
I understood it was the employees choice and all the employer can do is make them redundant, which Insuspect will cost them a lot more than he retiring.
Or just make him redundant if they want to?That’s our understanding, they can only force him to retire for physical or mental reasons.
