Random Irritations

I like it as well, does make you look a weirdo sometimes though as it can appear like you’re flashing your headlights all the time 🤣
It's the bit where the sides of the road are lit up like Blackpool but the middle of the road and the oncoming lane are quite dull, looks like the lights are broken :D.

The headlights are huge though so there are loads of LEDs so the difference between high and low beams are quite nuanced.

I leave my lights on auto with matrix LED enabled. Haven’t had anyone flash me during the winter. They’re pretty amazing to be honest. My only criticism is they can dazzle cyclists and pedestrians and because I’m not a totall walloper I dip them as normal when that happens.

Recipes that proudly say that they are 'just 3 ingredients' and further investigation shows that the 3 ingredients are, in fact, 3 packs of ready made mixes for other things

That is not 3 ingredients.

The Corsa had them, I was proudly telling my mate in November, never been flashed

2 mins later someone flashed me for the first time lol I was like typical 🤣

Is this full beam or main beam? Never known a car put full beam on automatically
the Volvo is full beam, with my passat i hardly if ever used full beam. it does switch off quickly any light detection and off it goes. even driving in this morning when it was quite light it still kept going to main beam

One of my guests lost his Scotty Cameron Headcover at Saunton last week. After the round, I asked one of the group behind if they saw it. He confirmed he’d picked it up on the 11th and then left it on the 15th tee so that it could be retrieved as the owner came round. But it wasn’t there when we came through.

Some blighter has pinched it. Will be on ebay soon no doubt!

Prety sure Greig and I are talking about something different to just auto dipping headlights. What we’re saying is that the LED full beams stencil out other vehicles while keeping the full beam on. Ford calls it Matrix LED and glare-free high beam. Polestar call it Pixel LED headlights (and they use the same tech you find in Texas Instruments DLP micromirror semiconductors). No idea what BMW call it. Probably LightenbeemingDazzleDazzleSsctoppenfluffer.

Seems like an odd way to go about it. Whenever I find a lost item I just keep it in my bag, waiting for the inevitable moment someone comes jogging back to ask - and if they don't you can ask around in the clubhouse afterwards.

Exactly... although on this course the 11th green and 15th tee are adjacent, so I get what he was thinking.

But he's given someone the opportunity to "forget to hand it in."

This is one kudos I will give to BMW, the detection is sensitive enough that as long as the cylcist has a light it will reconfigure around it. For pedestrians it only has the early warning, or the "wee red guy" as my son calls it that flashes up if someone is walking in the Kenny Loggins (Dangerzone).

Bring back the old dip switch on the floor :D
I learned to drive in my mum's 1963 mini, which had the floor mounted dip switch.
Problem was, nine times out of ten when you hit the switch to dip the lights, the headlights just went out completely, resulting in frantic stamping on the dip switch in an attempt to get lights of ANY kind back on

BBC 6 o’clock news trying to beef up the news that Charles has cancer. They have only got a short statement to work with but have managed to get at least 5 royal correspondents in and showing old coverage and live pictures of Buckingham Palace. They don’t know anything in detail but have spent 15 minutes on it so far and still going

I mean for me, the King finding out he has cancer is quite a big story 🤔
