Tell us what cancer it is or say nothing, is my view. You want the extravagant, easy life of a royal? Then you owe your “subjects” that much.

Easy life?
You're having a laugh, surely.

Yeah I mean take the pen incident, his mum has litterally just died. He is under intense scrutiny. Has to sign something , yes makes a comment or whatever with his hands and is attacked left right and centre

Like I said. Sod that.

You make a fair point, as a non-royal my mum is immortal.

I'm listening to Radio 5 Live news. 48 minutes in and they haven't mentioned anything apart from the King's cancer diagnosis, save for the sports news. I hope he recovers, but the fact he is ill has precisely no effect upon the lives of anybody in this country.

Is this post a joke one or just a troll, you know this forum gives more and more every day, the forum that never stops giving.
See, I think this is a very interesting take on the situation. It almost seems like you can’t fathom how anyone wouldn’t care about royalty and I find that a dangerous level of subservience. These are people who have done nothing to earn the huge privilege they have in life and yet people lap it up. I find that shocking given the huge disparity in quality of life across the UK and Commonwealth, not even considering the rest of the world.

A 75 year old man is diagnosed with cancer. He needs to take time off work to get treatment. Why do we need to know any more than that? I find it refreshing he's prepared to be open about his health issues. I don't feel the need to know WHAT form of cancer or anymore than I've been told.

Surely put your anti royal sentiments to one side and at least see it for what it is.

I for one have zero level of subservience to the monarchy but i have nothing against them and would be far happier to support them rather than a President

The Queen, in my opinion, was wonderful for the country and whilst i don't have the same feeling for Charles i wish him well, and much happier to have him as a figurehead than say President Blair !

Folks, can I ask please that we leave the rights and wrongs of a monarchy for another time and, perhaps, another place?

Love or loathe the royals, the King has been diagnosed with cancer. Any locking of horns over whether we should have a monarchy or not will rapidly descend into politics and, aside from being taboo on the forum, is perhaps not appropriate in the circumstances.

Thanks Billy, you may just have saved me from another infraction. (y)

It’s a friends 40th in a couple of weeks and his brother has said it’s a WWE themed fancy dress. Can I heck find a suitable OTT robe so I can go as Ric Flair 🤦🏻
I've been in a group doing these a few times and Roddy Piper is a good one that is easily sourced online. For the record I went as Mankind once and Kevin Owens the other :D

Ok, I give in. What is WWE and who are these people ?

ETA, after a great deal of effort ( well a couple of minutes) I found the following research summary

As in other professional wrestling promotions, WWE shows are not true contests but entertainment-based performance theater, featuring storyline-driven, scripted, and partially choreographed matches; however, matches often include moves that can put performers at risk of injury, even death, if not performed correctly. The pre-determined aspect of professional wrestling was publicly acknowledged by WWE's owner Vince McMahon in 1989 in order to avoid taxes from athletic commissions. WWE brands its product as sports entertainment, acknowledging professional wrestling's roots in competitive sport and dramatic theater

i have to say that I can’t see the attraction, though it appears that millions, literally millions, of other people do.

I suspect the main reason they aren’t saying what type of cancer it is is to stop keyboard warriors speculating about how long he has to life, survival chances etc. I saw a documentary about Dave Myers (Hairy Biker) and his cancer battle and he was the same . He didn’t want people saying that they know someone who died in xx months with that type, or similar.

People have every right to know when the King’s reign is potentially shortened. These are all parts of their life they should turn over to the public imo.
