Why is it the people who don’t want to change how they do something are always the ones who experience problems and difficulties? It’s almost like they do it on purpose 🤷🏼‍♂️

I remember when I was a kid and had chicken pox and all the kids in the area came in to see me with presents. I hadn't heard of a Chick-Pox party at the time, but that was the old way of getting kids immune.
Mind you, I think measles was deadly then, it's just that vaccines have taken that deadliness out of peoples minds. They won't know until their poor kid comes down with it.
Can you be immune from it? I've had it 3 times...

It’s the current panic about measles that’s confused me - back in the day did we not just all get measles as a normal part of growing up? Now it’s deadly?

That said, I agree with the vaccine comments - if there’s one available why not go for it and save the suffering.
I think you are mixing this up with chicken pox. Measles is a nasty one, you really don't want your kids getting it.

Quite possibly! I remember being very ill with it… and on my birthday too.

I got chicken pox for the 2nd time aged about 14. I remember how poorly I was and how horrific the spots were. I was covered in them and if I sat down the ones on my bum all oozed. My eldest brother spent hours next to me bathing my face with a cool flannel so I didn't scratch. The only time in my life I volunteered to wear a skirt as less fabric to stick to. Grim.

People who think they are they are important because they are on Tv but don't know what a closed question is.

Had measles on my 13th birthday. In bed, not eating, no interest in my presents.... got a craving for a banana. We didn't have any so my mum, bless her, went round the neighbours trying to scrounge one.... When she came back with one.... I didn't want it! Kids eh?? :ROFLMAO:

Best thing about being ill was my Dad would splash out on Lucozade for me. With the orange shiny wrapper. Loved it!

Symptoms have now moved on to a cough and, very annoyingly, a blocked ear issue! The build-up of pressure can be quite painful. Just one symptom after another this thing. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Cough wasn't too bad all day, until I lie down to sleep then it suddenly sounds like bloody bronchitis or something. And my ears are still blocked. Starting to forget what it was like to be remotely healthy.

You may have whooping cough, supposedly doing the rounds at the moment. According to my other daughter, who is a Practice Nurse.
Hope you get back to normal soon.

Two, one more serious than the other. Had a filling at the dentist this morning. How painful is the injection into your gum? No progress on that since I was a kid  . Surely there is a better way of numbing the area than shoving a needle in your gum.

Second, just got back and heard a friend has suffered a mild heart attack. His dad died from one, he has always been paranoid and so keeps himself fit. He is waiting to be transferred to the heart ward. Hopefully he will now be in the system and monitoring will be for life. He is one of the nicest people I know, hopefully they have got hold of this in time.

There is. It's called Orajel. Get the 20% benzocaine version and rub it on your gum before you go into the dentist room. It numbs your gum before the injection.
