Have you not noticed that in todays society you cannot have slightly right leaning politics? every description in the media (or social media nut jobs )is Hard Right or Alt Right (whatever that means)
I don't read any social media apart from this forum.
I am aware of much slightly right leaning, very right leaning and hard right political views in this country.
"You cannot have" can not be true, unless you mean that anyone who has those views will be subject to criticism from others who oppose those views.
Which seems only fair and proper to me.
Same goes for those with left leaning views. There will be others who will speak against those views.

It is how we conduct these debates and the nature of the language that we use in doing so, is how we all should measure ourselves.

So on Thursday afternoon the physios came , did some stairs and said you are almost ready to go home
(Been in Stoke Mandeville since 9 Jan)
They said they would come early on Friday (yesterday) and all being well, I’d be home yesterday.

They came at 3:30 pm and said I was ok to go, but we had missed the deadlines for pharmacy etc and I’d be out on Saturday (Today)

It’s now 12:30 and nothing has happened, I’m dressed ready to go.

Asked what was going on and a timescale

The docs have to do a discharge letter, that then goes to the pharmacy

The discharge letter hasn’t been done yet and the pharmacy closes at 4 pm

I can see myself being here tonight
Not even sure if the pharmacy is open tomorrow so it could even be Monday

I’m bed blocking and I hate it 😕

to be fair Phil I was bed blocking for the best part of a week

Came home about 5:30 yesterday, but it was very touch & go

The doc came round at 3:15 to discuss meds to take home, someone then ran the discharge letter to pharmacy and waited while it was done, as the pharmacy closed at 4 pm

Oh it’s lovely to be home, had a very small Ardbeg to celebrate 🥃😎

iNTERESTING. But....how much did they get paid? Couldn't be anymore than the electricity they didn't use. So about a quid then?

There are people who have made a lot out of it so far. Especially when now they pay battery users to discharge their batteries then aswell

Some were making £20 per session.

Car insurance again

So changing cars this week. Only took out the policy on the 9th (so Wednesday change over will be 24th) Its a bigger more powerful car I was expecting say £100 more. Maybe even more

£65 refund . Wow brilliant thanks

Oh but £45 only because of £20 admin fee for mid term changes

You really are a bunch of con artists

Plus if you're on the right tariff Octopus give free electricity several times a month (particularly in winter) when it is windy and the wind farms are generating more energy than the grid can cope with. On Friday we had free electric from 1pm until 4pm. Today it's free between 7pm and 11pm. And tomorrow it's free from 4am to 9am.

I went out on Friday morning and bought a 2kw fan heater for £15. With two other fan heaters going, a halogen heater, an oil filled radiator, the dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, according to our smart meter, we've spent close to £18 on electric during the past two free sessions (it's actually about two thirds of that because they haven't updated the meter with our new tariff). By the end of the session tomorrow we'll have covered the cost of the heater I bought. And as our heating is on gas we're also saving by not having that on.

Looking at the forecast for the week I'd be surprised if we don't get at least another two free sessions and probably three. Might have to buy another heater. 👍

Day four of laryngitis and it feels like it's getting worse rather than better. Barely slept last night with the pain in my throat, and paracetamol and ibuprofen are doing very little. ☹️ Covid didn't even feel as bad as this.
Symptoms have now moved on to a cough and, very annoyingly, a blocked ear issue! The build-up of pressure can be quite painful. Just one symptom after another this thing. 🤦🏻‍♂️

They really are brilliant (imo) whilst other suppliers are catching up a bit I still maintain they are the best around. I almost switched to EDF as their out price they were offering more for my export and pay slightly less for my incoming but then octopus lowers the incoming to within 0.5p and raised their outgoing to it was at least not a huge loss (1p)

I'd rather stay with them where possible due to their customer service and innovation

I mean I build up credit the way I run my house and I contacted them on twitter (X) the other day saying can I have a refund of this amount please. 7 days later it's in my bank. No chasing no dramas

The way you monitor your electricity is something to be admired, but one question:
Do you get out much? 🤣

It's the Tracker tariff. You have to be on it for a certain number of days and have a smart meter that can send half hourly readings. Mrs Colch gets an email the day before and has to opt into the "Power up"sessions.

She's just told me that she doesn't think that the tariff is the key thing but it is only available in certain postcodes.
