Cough wasn't too bad all day, until I lie down to sleep then it suddenly sounds like bloody bronchitis or something. And my ears are still blocked. Starting to forget what it was like to be remotely healthy.
I had this Sept/Oct through to Christmas, finally felt human around Christmas, cough seems to have come back! I had two sets of antibiotics to shift it.

Mrs D has seen some bits in Ikea but they don't deliver them so I suggested we pop over there one evening.

her reply was "are you busy now?"

guess who's going to Ikea

one of the great advantages of living in the back of beyond with hardly any shops is no longer getting dragged around shops for hours with the wife

I remember getting chicken pox on a caravan holiday to Winchelsea. Site had to call in the local GP to come and look at me and mum then looking for calamine lotion in local village stores
My memory of having chicken pox is one of the great turn arounds in my life.

Before catching it at the age of 13 I weighed 13stone 3 weeks later I weighed 10 stone. I was never actually ill but the weight just fell off me.

Horrified my parents as it meant all my clothing no longer fitted and you should have seen the school uniform list and my parents were not exactly well off. Luckily it was late June and my mum made do with just adjusting everything on the sewing machine until the start of the new term.

How tall were you at 13? I’m 61 and 6 foot tall and am at my heaviest ever at 11.5 stone.

5'9"

My weight has yoyo ed all my life, back to 13 stone at 22 back to 10.5 at 25 my heaviest was 17 stone in my 50s back to 12 in my in 60s
been 14 for about 8 years now.

Sadly a family trend. Personally I put my own down to being a very young child just after sugar rationing ended and I was allowed to go a bit barmy with the stuff.

What is it about being 60(ish).
I'm a similar height to you and am also my heaviest ever (12st). I was 11.5 for decades. Still wear my last work suit (over 20 yrs old) for funerals, but I'm beginning to worry that I might need a new one 😞.

Jesus, imagine moaning about only being 12 stone. Now there's an irritation. I'd have to starve myself and go running every night to get back to that at this point. My post-becoming-a-dad weight has plateaued at around 13 stone 9, the last time I was 12 stone was 2015.

The worst of it is that I was poorly for about 3 weeks after Christmas, so didn't eat much or drink alcohol. Was hoping to have lost at least a bit 😕
Every extra pound makes cycling, running and getting up the hill at the 18th just that much harder. Plus it's all just above the waistline, which is a terrible look...
