A good workaround if you can be bothered is to subscribe using a VPN to another country's YT service, some for less than a £1 per month, I haven't done it myself yet but seen lots of guides on hotukdeals regarding it.

The cheapest Netflix option already has ads, and has had for several months (maybe more than a year?).Probably mentioned several times, but adverts in YouTube. They are getting longer and more prevalent. No, I don't want to pay for the premium service, however I do appreciate it's a free service overall.
More annoying is that now Amazon Prime are doing similar. £2.99 per month to go ad-free, on top of the annual £95 sub.
Netflix will follow suit I would imagine. Then others.
This is going to get more and more prevalent - it's about making money.
This is why I am vehemently against the seeming desire to end broadcast TV.
We record everything to hard disk so we can skip the ads while watching.
You can't skip the ads on streaming services.
Luckily I'm old enough that I'll probably be long gone before broadcast TV eventually disappears.

This is it, every streaming service will hit a plateau of income from subscribers and so the only options to increase revenue are to up the subscription costs or put adverts in. Not seen how it will work, is it just an ad or 2 before the film or are they during as well I wonder.

Goodlord.co a company that collects guarantor information for our youngest's latest house share. They want so much personal information it's as if I've been suckered by one of the scam phone calls. There just seems no way around it and who knows how safe they will keep all this data. I've made it clear that we won't be dealing with them again.

YouTube is so good it's worth paying for IMO. Once you watch it without the adverts you'll never cancel it.
Amazon Prime has been underpriced over the years so the extra few quid is nothing really.
My advice is to cancel your license fee and use the savings to fund other services you actually watch.

I've still to see my first advert whilst watching YouTube.
I got a message pop up from YouTube a few weeks back. “Allow” YouTube with ads or be blocked from using it. Sure enough they gave a 5 views limit then blocked me. I had to change my Adblock settings before I could view anymore vids

I use Adguard and have no ads

Are you saying that Adguard actually prevents ads that seem embedded into the videos from appearing, you actually can watch a 45 minute video and it doesn’t break for even 5 seconds to ads?

On the subject of ads and irritations, when you buy an item online and the company then keeps sending you targeted mail asking if you want to buy that item. Currently getting bombarded with ads and email from M&M direct asking if I want to buy a pair of boots that I bought 3 weeks ago.

My mum car got a flat. I used to have the same car so I'm like dad I'll grab my torque wrench it has a space saver .. (he didn't realise)
10 min later after getting car up and locking nut off the bit that holds the socket on the wrench snapped off lol god sake
Called the tyre shop, alright mate how much to swap to the spare for us (after checking he didn't have a tyre) £10.
Ok we will be there in 5 mins
Waste of effort and a socket lol
He did say they were pretty rusted on .. I think he's just being kind
