Work is insisting we use Sharepoint now instead of the normal server. Sharepoint is rubbish. Takes about twice as long to navigate and save anything. I can't understand what the benefit is when it just takes longer to achieve the same thing.

We are under same instructions. Is it more secure?
I don't know. I just tried to drag a document into a different folder, and it doesn't work. You can't do that. So simple yet it can't be done. What's the point? Think I'm just going to continue using the server and wait to be told off.

We use OneDrive for general files, and we can share them internally to small numbers. Sharepoint is used for a larger audience at our place.

I was working from home on Friday and was just about to take the dog for a walk when my missus called. She had run over a pothole and burst her tyre. As it was not too far away I said I would come over and change it as I knew she had a space saver. I popped over there and as she was out shopping with her friend I told her to get a coffee while I sorted it. I went into the car, started jacking the car up and then went to loosen the nuts before raising it fully. I could not find the adaptor to undo the locking nut. Not in the glove compartment, not in the boot, not anywhere. I rang her and said have you taken the locking nut out. "I don't know". Now I know she removed a lot of stuff from her car when it went in for a service so I had this sinking feeling. So we had to take her friend home and then drive back to our house to hunt for the adaptor. Half an hour of searching and she found it. "Why is it not in the car" says I? "Well, I wasn't sure what it was so thought I would keep it safe in the house".
Much biting of lip and said, "OK, let's go back to the car now, but just in case we have any issues, who are you with for roadside recovery?". "I don't know she says, I get it with the insurance but I don't have the details". Further lip chewing and I suggested she rang her broker and get the details in case, and also for future emergencies. This took some time but eventually she was told it was Green Flag. So we get back to the car. I undo all the nuts, and lift the car on the jack. The wheel would not come off. It was basically fused to the hub. I tried to kick it off but didn't want to kick too hard as it was on the OEM scissor jack which was a bit wobbly.
So I say let's call Green Flag. Well, she tried ringing but the voicemail said it was faster to use the app. So we then had to install the app, register and then put in the request. It then came back to say it would be 2.5 hours to get someone there. So we sat in my car and I started to work off my phone and make work calls as I didn't want to leave her. Thankfully the assistance came after 30 minutes. He put the car on a heavy duty pneumatic jack and used his size 9 boots to free the wheel. He then changed it and handed back the locking nut. I said to her that this must now stay in the car at all times. We then managed to get back home.
In all this time, I am proud to say I did not shout, moan or even be sarcastic. I stayed calm and no argument ensued. Although I am sure she was expecting one.
If I want to take any positive from this, then it would be that if anything happens in the future, and I am not anywhere nearby, she now has the recovery app on her phone and the adaptor is back in the boot.
However, that took up all my work afternoon.
You often get alloys fusing to the steel wheel hub. To stop it happening again, if you put a smear of copper grease on the hub face the wheel won’t fuse onto the hub making a wheel change easier.

Had similar with my mum's car other day. I was like I got a torque wrench mum I'll get that spare on for you

Got the locking nut off no issue

Second one the metal on the socket sheered off making the wrench useless and the one they gave with car was useless

Drove down tyre shop ,£10 to put the spare on and my mum gets new tyres tomorrow

Amazing how they fuse on eh

👏 there's a sketch by a comedian (US I think) where he tells of asking his father the secret of being married for xx years, and recites a tale not dissimilar.
The advice - do not say the first thing that comes into your head, do not say the second thing, go with the third 😁

It's very difficult though. Usually even my third thought is no good, and in the words of Jose Mourinho, "I prefer not to speak, if I speak I am in big trouble."

This reminds of the time we stayed in a hotel and at breakfast there was all the usual offerings, full breakfast with beans, toast and all the usuals when I asked "could I just have beans on toast", I as informed sorry, we don't do that.:ROFLMAO:
Reminds me of my ex-golf club where a lot of the Saturday menu was something & chips but you couldn't just order a bowl of chips :ROFLMAO:

Hope your lip didn't bleed too much! 😁
I was sure you were going to say, after jacking the car up and then going to the boot to find "no spare wheel"! 😭.
Glad it all turned out well in the end. Can I suggest though, that you put the locking wheel nut in the glove box rather than the boot. On a cold wet night it might be difficult to find somewhere in the boot in the dark!
Much easier to just grab it from the glove box. 👍

Still doesn't work. If my wife does something that I think is stupid, I say nothing and she still regards that as an insult. I think it must be something about the tone of my silence.

After 6 weeks of being quite readable the footy thread having descended back into the look how hard done by Liverpool are thread.

It’s so dull and tiresome and over a meaningless booking. Imagine a referee booking the away player and letting the home player(s), never happened before certainly never at Anfield. 🤦 At least save your faux outrage for an incident of actual consequence.

Yep. Was going to post just three words "The Footie Thread" but would probably result in an argument...

Oh well. It's been nice but all good things and all that.

Footy thread.
If I feel that I have something to say, I try to do it quickly and get out quick without reading much.

LIV thread - an occasional peek once every month or so.

Preserving my sanity - there's not much left and it is precious.

Give your heads a wobble, the discussion is based on respect towards referees and how telling them to *** off shouldn’t be acceptable.

Several people were posting, a Sunderland fan, 2 Spurs fans, 1 Liverpool, and then 2 mods also involved…neither of which support Liverpool AFAIW, with the majority saying the refs deserve more respect.

You talk about cliques on here and the atmosphere being ruined by certain people, but you can be damn sure if there’s an opportunity to have a sly dig at someone that PinSeeker, PJ87 and Amanda will all like it.
