1. Ikea clearly running out of mirrors meaning some are unable to “look at themselves”

2. The lack of social awareness that some people have

the lack of social awareness bugs the life out of me.

I was waiting for a train this morning and was standing about 18 inches from a support pilar yet someone still deicded that they wopuld try and squeeze through the gap eventhough the platform was pretty empty

I think that's spatial awareness. 😁

I don't know. I just tried to drag a document into a different folder, and it doesn't work. You can't do that. So simple yet it can't be done. What's the point? Think I'm just going to continue using the server and wait to be told off.
If you have OneDrive sync you might be able to sync some of your folders locally and then you can drag & drop, otherwise you can use the move function, it’s really easy - we did a migration once and we had a lady in tears on the Monday as she didn’t think she’d cope, she called me on the Wednesday to say how easy it was to use, I’ve now got a nice video of her talking about her experience which we share as part of our migrations.

In answer to another poster - generally cheaper, easy to administer, easier for users to access, easier for sharing & collaboration.

After many years of faithful service, the electric kettle became incontinent. An examination of its nether regions didn't suggest any obvious solution - new one ordered. It's in shiny brushed metal with a window so that you can judge the quantity of water to put in - just the job. To my astonishment, not only does it boil water, but it illuminates the contents with an azure glow. What, in the name of all that's holy, provoked the designer to add this wholly useless and superfluous feature? My only hope is that this component (when it conks out which it surely will) is not linked in some devilish way to the element so that it stops boiling water.

Seems every kitchen appliance has to have an audio/visual gizmo these days. Sometimes I look forward to a power cut just to get the ‘analogue’ kettle on the gas hob

Our kettle (which is several years old) was like that. The light failed a long time ago. It still boils water.

Microsoft Teams. We have to use it as our work comms tool. It's almost unusably bad, and seems to be getting worse every week. We can barely finish a call without the picture freezing or everyone sounding like a Norman Collier tribute act. I've no experience of it outside of my current work context. Is it always this bad, or is it something that my company is doing to it?

Oh, and Sharepoint sucks as well.

Never had a problem with Teams. Sharepoint had issues right from day 1. Could be great, could be a pig the very next day. Thankfully, not used Sharepoint for a good while.

I use it everyday and it’s fine, mostly. The problems we have are generally with people at home with a crap connection which is usually solved by tuning their camera off.

We don’t use share point much. But most of the errors in that are with it not being configured properly or end users not understanding it can’t be used as Explorer was.

Teams - Sounds like it's my company fiddling with it. I find this depressingly easy to believe 😥

Sharepoint - no one will ever convince me that it's the correct solution to any problem.

As @BiMGuy said - if your Teams calls are struggling like that it's more like a poor connection problem, and it does help if everyone turns off their cameras. I never have my camera on anyway. Not sure why people need to see each other to have a conversation, I treat it as a phone call.

Nothing worse than some unsuspecting fool picking their nose whilst on Teams. Not a pretty sight either…

We do regularly have to go camera-off and it improves things a bit. I know the problem's not me as I have a gazillion tonnes of fibre to my house, and complaints are common across the company. So, it's either the product or my company, and it sounds like it's the company.

Most of our calls are camera-on. My whole team works from home 99.9% of the time, so it's almost the only time we ever see each other.

Ah, that only makes the connection issues more likely. You've probably got one or two team members still on 56k dial-up. 😁

Ours boils water, but has started randomly deciding not to bother turning itself off when done.

Came downstairs last week to find the work surface and the cupboards above soaking wet. Thought we had a leak in the roof until I realised the kettle had boiled itself dry and it was the evaporated water that was everywhere.

Have been watching it like a hawk since then. Half the time it turns itself off like it should, the rest of the time, it just boils like crazy. Wife has spent the last week deciding what make and model to replace it with. No sign yet of a decision ...
