Well other than saying I’m very far from either, I couldn’t give a monkeys. Opinions are like a holes, everyone has oneI find that very snobbish and exclusive

You won’t get much support for wanting to play longer courses round here. Most are struggling to tap it round short courses as it is.I only ever play off competition tees, whether white or black. Why practice or play off yellows then it’s almost a different course when you play a comp. I would never play off red tees
They have one full 18 hole course and a nine hole par three course on the same property. Juniors play on the par three course until they "qualify" to play on the regular course. Not sure how many members, but it is a very active club.285 junior members ?
How many courses does this club have and how many members overall

How many members in total? To have that level of juniors playing on the main course along with the rest of the members must mean a very full course
We have a limit of 90 now

90 juniors is still a good number.
Well I'm glad that is the case round your way I've played around 20 courses this year and only one has had a measured course forward of the traditional red tees that I can recall. There isn't a need for most courses to build more tees. Most courses have red/blue tees and a rated course for these anyway. Why the fixation on building more aside it not fitting the narrative
We have a short course (blue tees), never see anyone using them unfortunately.Well I'm glad that is the case round your way I've played around 20 courses this year and only one has had a measured course forward of the traditional red tees that I can recall.
It certainly isn't common round my way(Scotland), at my home course we intermittently get junior tees shove in at random on some holes. Never measured.
One of the issues here is the work needed to rate each tee set for men and women vs the number of times they are used. In several cases the longest tees are in excess of 6800 yards which are rarely suitable for women club golfers and hence almost never used. The statistics are now available for the number of handicap rounds played per tee set by sex so the usage is obvious. In my opinion each tee should be rated for men and women and then they can choose what set of tee's suit their level of golf.
My Mrs the other week played in a mixed midweek comp. Signed in to play whites with the blokes. She had 4 or so guys question if that was a wise move as it is longer than playing off reds and wouldn't want her to struggle.
My Mrs hits her driver around 210 and her irons are a good distance. She can reach all par 4's at my place in two with two good shots. Even the par 5 she has a chance in getting on in 3 if the shots are good. I find it bizarre that in this day and age we try and target certain tee's for a specific sex.
It’s ok for two weeks in summerA course of 6800 yards (especially parkland) is rarely suitable for any golfer!
I have played Gleneagles pga off whites, about 7000 yards, no fun at all!
Honest Brian, that is grade one common sense. The piece I read, I was astonished it got so much ink. If women struggle ( and men do as well). Move forward tees. It is a massive no story. Written by someone lacking common sense.Fortrose have moved away from ‘Gender’ tees, we have 5 colours and just choose whichever tees you want to play from.
The point of the article was that there are not many places with tees to move forward to. Whether for women or for men though a man's distance as an average will exceed a woman's at all ages.Honest Brian, that is grade one common sense.
