I would but not until I retire. I'd like to give something back to the club.

Done it. Been asked to do it again.... Always said no as I felt fitting in work/home and capataincy was too onerous.

Depends on the role, seen some Clubs were you are no more than a figurehead, ie grin & greet.
Seen other clubs that absolutely take the p!££ out of the poor bloke.

Not for me at the moment. Mainly because I simply do not have the time to do the job properly plus, especially if I go back to my old club, my views on how a club should be are pretty much opposite of the views of a number of members, including those of long standing and on committees.

Not for me, the demands made do not fit in with my home life. That written if my other half was into golf and played at the same club and we could spend time together at the club, then maybe.

Nope - never ever! Unless I develop a skin thicker than a rhino - women can be VERY mean and I've witnessed their nastiness directed at their Captain way too often.
