It's an each to their own one. I haven't posted here previously about the 100, calling it rubbish etc. I only posted this morning to answer the question put, to put the other side across. If people enjoy it, that's great. It's just exhibition stuff to me though, a bit like the Charity Shield in football, except worse , and no, I don't watch that either.

And again. Honestly, anyone who loves cricket but has a problem with The Hundred really needs to watch it and see what they're missing.

It’s a tournament based around test venues once again despite the fact there are other counties that produce far better t20 atmospheres

And also as a Somerset fan there is nothing worth than seeing our top One Day players including club captains playing in it whilst the county are trying to playing the county One Day cup

I'm surprised that Stokes is going to play the one day tournament. He stated he was going to rest up for 6 months, look after his knee. He wont bowl in this but the running in these games, plus fielding is a big stress still. Hopefully it wont impact him too much.

Not that much money in county cricket for good players who aren't on an England central contract.
Sponsorship and individual contracts in The Hundred, Blast, IPL at least allow the best county cricketers to make a decent living that a career in the championship would not.

What you are missing out on is cricket of a very high standard. I personally don't think the hundred has done anything for mens cricket (it's been great for women) and frankly if the T20 blast was played in August instead of June/July all the games would be sold out as well. Last week a Oval/Surrey/Australian bowler bowled 20 balls for 1 run taking 2 wickets. Last night a team came within a ball of chasing down 190. The standard is crazy good. If you're not watching you are missing out.

As for who to support - why does it matter? Choose the team your favourite player or that plays in your favourite colour or favourite brand of crisps.

I’m going to the Northern Gravy Lovers v Welsh Fire at Headingley on Tuesday next week.

I am not a lover of the short format of the game so doing this to see if it can change my mind.

The 100 is so, so good for kids. I’ve got a sport mad 5 year old and either played or been to pretty much every event going the last 2 years and nothing has got anywhere close to the kids/family experience than the 100.

The length of the game, the action, fireworks, music, stuff around the ground you don’t see on tv is excellent in drawing in new fans, which is what cricket needs.

My hope is that some of these new fans (including my lads) stick around to play it and ultimately become passionate about the 5 day game. But you’ve got to get them in the door first

Having been the last 2 years now, he is obsessed with Invincibles and Sam Curran more than any other sporting team and person. Which is tough in a football dominated country (he also loves football but not close to this passion for Spurs yet) He chooses to watch cricket all the time. Why? Because they got his experience spot on. Even my sport loathing wife is fully invested in them and came both years plus watches nightly now.

It’s proof of actually growing a game. On FTA TV, during school holidays and focus on family experience with a good product to back it up

Free to Air TV? What channel is it on? I've been watching it all on my laptop through Sky Go and didn't realise I could've been watching it on TV instead.

There is certainly a big difference between the Blast Crowd and the Hundred. The Hundred seems far more family orientated, not a drunken sing a long which the Blast has become sometimes.

I dont have Sky, but theres a couple of Sky channels on my Virgin system that are showing it. I have been watching it via BBC2 and Sky (can't remember the channel name)
Personally, the BBC has the better commentary and back up, the pictures appear to be a common supply...so probably Sky feed.

I've always thought that all the people saying they don't watch the short format cricket are lying and actually secretly tuning in. But I have changed my mind and realised it might be true. People have spent the summer going on about "Bazball" and what Joe Root has actually been unleashing on us is basically middle overs ODI batting - and they've just not seen this kind of stuff before. Ditto openers playing shots instead of leaving the first 40 balls or batsman standing outside of their crease - all new innovations that have been around for 20 years!
