Great win but I still feel that we could have won the whole series 4-0, were far the better side .

Not sure about that. All 4 matches had a pretty close result and Australia could easily have won 4-0.

England have been really entertaining, some great showboating at times, but also made mistakes and Australia played smart cricket to always remain in the hunt.

Just watched the highlights and that final spell from Broad was mesmerising. Many balls far too good for the tailenders and would have ripped through many a top order.
What a fitting end to a brilliant career.

Picked up a ticket for yesterday during the third test, only paid £20 and took a punt that there was the possibility that the entire Ashes could come down to that day. Unfortunately the weather ruined that during the 4th test however what a day out it was!

I work near The Oval. It was bizarre how many people who had clearly been there all day were heading to Vauxhall Underground at 4 o'clock, just as it was about to restart.

How odd! We went to the pub from lunchtime through to until 3:30pm when we headed back to the ground. I can't remember when the sun came out however we'd have never considered leaving unless it became apparent that the weather would ruin it.

Two great finishes in the Hundred tonight - both the women and the men’s Fire/Braves matches going down to the last ball. Irrespective of the format or graphic gripes, a close run bat vs. ball contest is a great watch.

Yep. The graphics don't worry me and there have been some great cricket matches this week. I know some have a problem with it, but I think it's a terrific tournament.

I don't watch the hundred, largely because I don't care about any of the teams. I dislike the franchise system intensely, the teams are artificial. If I don't care about the teams, I don't care who wins. If I don't care who wins........

I accept the cricket is good, it's just meaningless to me so I don't bother. It's white noise cricket

Does that mean you've never watched a football match without the team you support playing? So you've never watched a world cup final?

I don't have to support the team to watch but I have to understand who the team is and that team has to have credibility. They are artificial constructs and I don't care about them.

Honestly, you're overthinking it. it's just good quality T20 cricket. I'd watch the last 30 min of Mumbai Indians vs Chennai cause I want want to see MS Dhoni not panic and score his team 40 runs from 15 balls. Don't care about Mumbai, couldn't find Chennai on a map but it's good cricket. Last night 2 teams scored almost 380 runs in 200 balls and it ended with some last ball no ball drama - no chance there was anything better on TV last night. Of course it's contrived but hell, so is the ashes. It's just that it was made up a 100 years ago.

If I'm cooking or waiting for MrsA to finish the washing up before we settle down to watch some other "white noise" TV show it's mostly highly entertaining.
Honestly, how you describe franchise cricket is pretty much how I feel about the Premier League. Half those owners and players have no real connection to their team.

It's an each to their own one. I haven't posted here previously about the 100, calling it rubbish etc. I only posted this morning to answer the question put, to put the other side across. If people enjoy it, that's great. It's just exhibition stuff to me though, a bit like the Charity Shield in football, except worse , and no, I don't watch that either.
