That’s a huge surprise. If anyone was going to go I thought it would be Anderson.

Let’s hope Sky Sports snap him up. His initial forays into broadcasting have been mighty impressive.
I've always liked him but it will be interesting to see if he's actually capable of any kind of objectivity.

Also, loving how the Aussies seem convinced that Spin Vision is rigged against them.

Also, Jimmy may well go, but he's a quiet chap. Stuart will want to make sure the crowd give him a send off tomorrow because he's a bit of an attention seeker.

I once went out to bat and face the final ball before tea, and realised I had forgotten to wear my box. No problem. Their spinner was on.

The ball caught me from below, and despite the total lack of pace when it connected with the two veg I went down as though I’d been shot, to howls of laughter from my so called mates.

The worst thing about the whole painful interlude was that I couldn’t eat a single mouthful of what was renowned as the best tea on our league circuit, such was the nausea I was feeling.

Oh, and our captain declared immediately after tea - so it was all for nothing.

I can beat that for a painful box incident. Playing in a county under 19 match I went out to bat against a Yorkshire fast bowler. The second ball I faced nipped back and hit me flush in the box. The bowler was fast enough that my box partially split and the two sides sprung apart. Unfortunately when they then snapped back into their original position a part of my anatomy was trapped in between them. As I lay on the ground trying to catch a breath a red stain started to spread across the front of my whites. I was helped from the field where a team mate and the coach carefully tried to prise the box apart to free me, not helped by the fact they were trying very hard (and failing) not to laugh. I was driven to A&E where I had to get 6 stitches in my scrotum. Let me tell you, a painkilling injection in the scrotum before they do stitches is a whole new level of pain.

Even better was when the umpire relented and gave out on field twice - only for our reviews to be upheld :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Glad that Broad has taken the decision into his own hands and going out on a high

Amazing that they thought he was a batsman who could bowl a little at first

This is getting annoying. Last year my day at the Oval was cancelled cos' the Queen died. This year I had a ticket for the only day (yesterday) when sod all happened.
But at least the telly viewing is exciting.

Great way for Broad to bow out. Whilst part of me thinks it’s too early for him to finish, I do get why he wouldn’t want to tour India this winter, so I think he’s probably looked at upcoming series and thought now is the right time.

As for this series, I’ll bet Australia can’t get on the plane soon enough. They have properly dodged a bullet this summer.

Played like clowns for the first two tests. Played well in the last three but Manchester ruined your chances with its awful weather.

The whole series didn’t feel very hyped up like it has been in the past to me. Happy that the Ashes are on their way to Aus.

Hopefully a good tour over there in a couple of years
