It’s poor tbh that the weather is going to cause a lot of issues - they have to build in rain days

Totally agree. It’s not as though a T20 takes hours. It’s just so frustrating.

EDIT: And it does seem odd timing to be hosting a WC in the Caribbean during what is their rainy season. I’m guessing the decision was driven by the fact the USA is co-hosting.

Looking like it’s going to be a washout, still raining hard and puddles in the outfield.

Stupid time to play in the Caribbean, the rainy season!

But as an observer just said on BBC Sport, why is the cut off for the start of play 4.45pm local time? And even then that’s for a 5-over a side game. Surely there’s enough daylight to start a shortened game considerably later than that.

Seems strange, I can see there are floodlights at the ground so what’s the problem in seeing it out till 9pm?

Sure the Scots won’t enjoy qualifying through such circumstances 😂

It’s a joke - t20 blast games in the UK are starting at 7pm

The scheduling is questionable at best. You surely can’t have any side being eliminated by a vastly inferior side purely because the latter have managed to play more games.

Having a cricket WC in the Caribbean in their rainy season is akin to holding the Winter Olympics somewhere in summer. It’s laughable. The weather isn’t just being a minor irritant - it’s having a significant bearing on this tournament.

Hmmmm. I’m beginning to think a wash out might not have been a bad thing. Rather that than go out losing to Namibia.

Very poor start.

How on earth can a side be allowed to retire a batter “out” simply because he’s struggling to get the ball away in a run chase? That can’t be right, surely.

Best you don’t watch the IPL if this frustrates you. They have introduced ‘impact substitutes’ so some players only bat and don’t field or they sub a batter between innings to put in an extra bowler
