A bit of reverse psychology urgently needed. England are going down here with barely a whimper.
Not making out of the group stage is a real possibility!!!! Who would have thought this. The NR against Scotland may be a big factor. If it happens I won’t hear the end of it in the office.

England need to stop bowling first thinking they can chase any total as they have proved time and time that they can’t 🤬

150-160 was actually a decent total on that wicket. The game was lost in the first half dozen overs of the Australian innings.

Usually Eng v Aus would generate lots of posts here. Probably like me, I'm not really a 20-20 fan and less so of the Mott/Buttler approach to 20-20.
I'll wake up when the test matches start again. 20-20 is clearly hugely popular and is a financial money spinner. Just not for me.

The India v Pak was awesome... i thought it was a done deal when i started watchiing... Then Bhumra turned up for this third over.. and the game changed extraordinarily...

One of the best T20 matches I’ve ever seen. I find the low scoring games much more entertaining, the balance can swing so quickly. Better than mindless slogging.

Must be tempting for Aus and Scot to "throw" the game on Sunday....

It is an interesting situation in the context of Hazlewwood's comments the other day. Anything less than an Australia win would certainly be met with questions. Ironically, even is Scotland win fully on merit, questions will be asked.

This may actually be working in our favour. Understandably, Cummins now out on the defensive saying it was never considered. This may actually push Australia in to putting out a full strength team and going in all guns blazing. If they had said nothing, they could have given a few squad players a run out and treated it as a practice match, now all eyes are on them and so they may have to put of the full first 11.

Net Run Rate. Understand basics but please Mudball or Fundy if still around please clarify/ explain.

England at present NRR. 3.081.

V Australia England 165/6 Australia 201/7
NRR. -1.805. +1.805

England v. Oman

50/2 3.1 overs(3.16). 47 all out

NRR 15.82. NRR 2.35

Difference 15.82- 2.35 =13.47.

How do the 2 figures -1.805 and +13.47 equate to 3.081.

Realise that 3.16 is 3.16 recurring so there will be an error.

Over to you experts
TIA

I think you have to convert the scores to a full 20 over score to get the match NRR, not just use the actual overs used - but key be wrong
