Was'up with some people on here!

Why can't we have a celebration of the years sporting achievements? It's not just about the overall winner, it's about all sports people and their performances throughout the year. And recognition for all their dedication and supreme efforts in their particular field.

As for the "Title" - or - "Personality", it shouldn't be taken so literally IMHO.

SPOTY is a programme that I look forward to every year, and long may it continue.

Slime.

I suspect their is no link because it's 100% rubbish. Can't really see anglers voting by the boat load.
Suppose it was Gary Linekar that gave him the info whilst they had morning brunch together at the Ivy

Why would I post a link when I got the information at source? Can you not understand the rationale behind saying ask me about this privately?

Or are you calling me a liar. I hope not. I would take great offence.

[h=3]SPORT

Noun.
An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment:[/h]
That means darts is a sport, like it or not!

Well said!

Believe it or not, there is some physical element to darts as the throw does work certain muscles hard

Also, the mental side of it is huge, it gets the brain working thats for sure.

As i believe Eric Bristow once said, when asked how much exercise he did.
" I practice 6 to 8 hrs a day, i must walk ruddy miles ". :)

Darts is at least as physical as archery, shooting, or bowls, and compared to fishing its a ruddy endurance sport.
Don't understand the negativity myself.

So Andy Murray is the favourite for eventually managing to win a game against the same bloke who has been kicking his butt on a regular basis for the last 5 years  Some achievement is that

No it is because he is the best British male tenniser since Fred Perry.

Did I see somewhere that he was 25/1 on to win.
If so you seem to be way out of touch with your sporting knowledge [or is there another agenda]

BTW.well said golfmmad.

I'm struggling with the physical exertion bit, do you mean picking up pints or summat?

You try standing up for hours on end whilst practicing darts.
I wouldn't have thought it was as easy as many folk imagine ................ and it's day after day after day after day after day.
Oh, and dartists don't drink pints during competition.
Don't confuse them with the audience now!

So why are most darts players over weight. Physical exertion it is not - skillful yes.

Sorry, but I can't agree with your logic there. On the contrary, he has at last beaten one of the all time greats - in a Wimbledon Final, it doesn't get any better than that.

By the way, did you actually watch the final?

I did, and Murray showed sheer guts and determination throughout the match - and to win in 3 straight sets shows how much an accomplishment it was.

I hope he does win - it will be richly deserved.
