Why is it a "meaningless" award - I expect it means a lot to the winner
Cant imagine any of the nominees loosing any sleep if they don't win it.

How can Murray be favourite when its a "PERSONALITY " award???????
Was'up with some people on here!
Why can't we have a celebration of the years sporting achievements? It's not just about the overall winner, it's about all sports people and their performances throughout the year. And recognition for all their dedication and supreme efforts in their particular field.
As for the "Title" - or - "Personality", it shouldn't be taken so literally IMHO.
SPOTY is a programme that I look forward to every year, and long may it continue.

Slime.
I suspect their is no link because it's 100% rubbish. Can't really see anglers voting by the boat load.
Suppose it was Gary Linekar that gave him the info whilst they had morning brunch together at the Ivy

Believe it or not, there is some physical element to darts as the throw does work certain muscles hard
Also, the mental side of it is huge, it gets the brain working thats for sure.
So Andy Murray is the favourite for eventually managing to win a game against the same bloke who has been kicking his butt on a regular basis for the last 5 yearsSome achievement is that
I'm struggling with the physical exertion bit, do you mean picking up pints or summat?
I might actually agree - for instance I think that it's a nonsense that golf is in the Olympics. Golf is NOT an Olympic sport - it just isn't - despite the baffling attraction of TW.

You try standing up for hours on end whilst practicing darts.
