The increase in population will not be the number of children. That will not be significantly larger. It will be the number of old people.
The only way to reduce the population in the next 50 years is to kill lots of old people. It won't happen.
It's a depressing thought that the most extreme example of the law of unintended consequences is that advances in medical science has resulted in a pensions crisis, a housing crisis, a health care crisis, and a climate change crisis.
A retired consultant I play golf with told me that he was in a management meeting where it was explained that the government doesn't like to fund medical research because they know it will cost them in pension payments in the future.
(Let me just emphasise that I am NOT advocating stopping medical research!)

Nothing wrong with what you are saying here, but I was referring to world population not UK population.
D-S made a valid point about world population increasing by 80 million a year.
But that figure is set to decrease as we are beyond the inflexion point on the way to 2100 when world population growth will "flatten out" at a new equilibrium or very low growth.

COVID bulk buying finally being used up?
It was bought pre COVID!

We don't often used Papardelle (obviously) so it had just sat there, as we normally use spaghetti, conchigle or penne for the standard rotation of paste dishes.

Luckily we have Tagliatelle, in date, so that'll do well, so panic over. First world problems.
