Went to the bank... apparently they 'dont do any cash' on Saturday. Can someone tell me what is the role of the bank these days?

I went to the bank (Halifax) to pay in coins. They told me I had too many (11 bags) the limit is apparently 10. They "did me a favour" of doing their jobs.

NatWest on the other hand you can pile as much coins as you like in a counting machine and it gives you a slip got that amount that goes in your account, much better.

Post office? They turned my coins away "we have enough coins"

Think they missed the point lol 😆

No idea which posters are back but the forum has lost a lot of good posters over the last 6/12 months for various reasons

Despite what some think the forum is worse off because of many of those that’s have left.
No it's not. If people want to flounce off, or get banned for being derisory to others, then it's their loss not ours. The forum is as good as it ever was, you get out of it what you put into it.

I guess that’s were self awareness comes into it

But this place was thriving 5 years ago with some stunning meets and regular other little meets , national competitions arranged by many - a thriving Scottish bunch , even busier NW west OOM , people travelling to all corners

There was a number of coaches giving advice

People are leaving because of multiple reasons , people stopping posting because of multiple reasons and it includes how some react on here

Multiple factors why there might be less meets happening - pandemic, soaring costs at golf courses. Irrespective, that is extracurricular - I stand by my statement the forum itself is as good as it ever was.

One other factor is that organisers of various meets in the past even little 4/8 ball meets don’t want to put them on here for obvious reasons - I have been to at least 5 courses over the last 12 months through invites of forum members

And it’s nothing to do with costs or covid

The golf section used to be rammed full of threads

The forum has suffered losing a lot of very good , knowledge golf posters

I've been on and off the forum (my own choice to leave each time) since 2012.
In my opinion, which none of you here have any right to say is wrong, as it's my opinion and I'm not stating it as fact, is that this is definitely not as enjoyable a place as it was when I was first and second on here.

I remember a guy from America, "The coach". If he was asked a question his reply was 2 sides A4. Really thorough response. No videos unlike resident Bobmac who has stood the test of time and is extremely practical

Honestly I think we've had just as many new posters come in over the last four years who have added quality. Like most things the forum is always evolving. 👍🏻

The coach was great. I remember putting some swing videos up and him sending a very in-depth review and some tips, this would have been in about 2016 when I first joined.

Yeah The Coach used to put up lots thread and replies whenever someone needed advice , certainly very thorough in regards swing advice - different style so people had their choice

There was also a number of people like Garryinderry and Justone who used to give out free advice even offering to visit and give range sessions

Miss the old little meets to Hayling , the KoK meets , then the mega meets 😢

Nothing stopping you arranging a mega meet Phil. I’ve just looked back through the last 8 years in “arrange a game.” Apart from the odd mega meet, and there wasn’t a lot of them the numbers are fairly consistent.

People complaining that people don’t organise meets anymore.
Surely if one was that bothered, one could organise a meet.
