Random Irritations

2 for 1 after 9…….

And before 7!

Wife went out for a bottomless brunch end of term which her work colleagues , think she txt me at 1800 after her 14th cocktail with a photo of her and our eldests class teacher saying "don't show her how drunk miss is" lol 🤣

Celebs claiming they:
a. Have always wanted to write a book
b. The idea is their own
c. Have written the book all by themselves

It would be an interesting experiment to send a celebs book to a publisher under another name and see if it would be published as they seem to get book deals easier than most. On the plus side, there can't be many celebs left who aren't claiming to be authors!

Nothing will ever beat Steve Bruce's football detective novels.

No, fairly accurate. As someone that has to deal with their written notes daily some would think poor writing was a part of medical school. Spelling of the simpler words can be amusing too
We've just had to send one form back to the to doctors surgery and ask them to either type it out or write it out again because nobody could decipher it.

I was just going to post this in the things that gladden the heart thread. Not because of the names, but the predictable response it would get.
Please feel free to post it there if it gladdens your heart.

Waste of time effort and money and the naming of them is also naff

The naming is very important, for example the London overground has many different routes

If one has an issue then "London overground suspended" goes out. Which isn't helpful for the customers

However defining each section that is a separate line then it's better for the customers to be able to find which line easier.

Yes but you know a certain contingent of the population is fuming.

Agree with what you are saying but can you put together a good argument for why/how it has cost the £6.3 million that is being reported in the press? And only last year TfL said it would be £4 million so a 50% rise in a year!

Inflation will be the extra cost no doubts and why it costs so much? Who actually knows. Everything gets increased in price once it's public money as companies charge more because they know it will be covered.

Not sure what’s worse

The use of of derogatory comments like “woke” and “gammon”

Of the fact nearly £7mil will be spent on renaming a train line

Guess London must be awash with money to waste that much - guess there is no other priorities where the money would be better spent
