Your trouser waist size is the same as your neck circumference ;)

Speaking of which when did the inch waist change per different manufacturer

I have a pair of trousers on that are same size as my other pair from Sainsbury's

One fits lovely , this pair (same size) is like a size too big

No way did I lose weight since yesterday

All these letters are worthless.......put the size in inches or cms...simple.
When one XXL is another company's L you haven't got a chance...
Bit like women's clothing. My missus is always ordering stuff online then sending it back because it's too large or too small. She can be anywhere between an 8 and a 12 depending on the garment.

Parent/child parking spots always cause the same debate

Being close to the entrance never helps but it’s for a reason when it comes to kids and potentially buggies and prams etc - it’s just being safe

And yeah people will park in them without kids , that’s just human nature and selfishness , not worth worrying about. I use them when I have my daughter with me but if they are taken up then there is normally plenty around

When does a child become too old to be used for parking in the Parent/child spaces? If I (53 yo) go with my Dad, can i use it?

Obviously joking, but how old is too old?

I presume as mentioned, it's just for the time they still require prams, car seats, etc.

12 is the official line, that is because that's the legal age for child seats which need more space to do the seat belts up etc

Agree with the comment about siting them further away to remove the temptation. Problem solved - next! 😀
Agreed, they don't need to be nearer the shop door. A lot of these new prams have got more wheels than my car.
With the move to big American SUVs and pickups, why do the shops not give us bigger parking bays?
Here in the UK, they are about 8'-9' In the states they are 11'-12'

The car in the middle is a BMW 318 so not a small car but dwarfed by the massive 4x4s which are essential for navigating the massive hills and mountains of Lincolnshire

What would the picture look like with a 3 series from this decade?

The point I was making was modern cars are much bigger than older cars but the parking bays haven't got bigger
Probably because 1) there is a british / industry standard that hasn’t been updated in line with vehicle sizes and 2) in the eyes of some management types, car parks which require payment (e.g airports), increasing the size of car park spaces reduces the number of spaces and therefore available income.
However I am aware that Waitrose / John Lewis have increased their car parking space size when they build / renovate stores, I was told it was to match the average vehicle size of the customer demographic.
The worst example of ‘new’ car park spaces I have come across is at Saunton Golf Club, when they resurfaced the car park they appear to have white lined for cars from 20 years ago.

Average cars are about 4 inches wider than they were in 2000...
If an already wide car has grown the same amount the it's now officially huge. Additional length too
It's about 15 years since the VW Polo became bigger than the original Golf
