Random Irritations

Rosie Jones.
How is she funny??
I hate to call it a box-tick because it makes you sound like a gammon at times, but in her case it genuinely has to be. TV shows want to look 'progressive' by adding her to the bill, but I'm sure many people, me included, find it difficult to follow what she is saying - and her jokes, even if told by anyone else just aren't funny for the most part. I just find it a bit strange.

My stalking day at one of the reserves, trudging over a mountain in the peeing rain. Didn't even see a deer let alone get a shot off, mind saw loads on the drive over and back🤣🤣
On this mornings walk I was discussing Hearts win with the other village Jambo and our two dogs.
I looked over his shoulder and 20 yards away a deer came out from behind a tree and casually walked up the hill.

Fantastic time at Disney on ice. Easy transport on the tube. Seamless day out.

Ofc the price is what it is. Standard ticket prices for those sort things

However mummy said they could all have a wand. When I saw the price I said not a chance.. (£32 each) their lucky grandad is soft as I would have walked away. I'd Rather take them on another day out than waste on tatt

I'd bet they make more selling their tatt than they do on the tickets

£25 each for popcorn according to the dad in front. Just printing money

My sat nav deciding my journey home from golf would be via a different route to the one we took there
Had this once about 7 years ago, brand new car, new mountain bike on the roof rack for the first time driving back from Gisburn forest after doing some night-riding (not a euphemism) - i was completely disorietated as the sat nav took me a completely different way home and under a very low bridge...

The call to the insurance made me want to cry later that evening i can still remember the girl on the other end of the phone sucking in through her teeth and saying "ooooh, well with it being the roof panel it'll probably be a write off".

Thankfully it wasn't.

It's not a kitchen space it's a kitchen
It's not a roof space it's an attic
It's not a living space it's a living room
It's not a new build it's a new building
It's not a property it's a house.
It's not a bespoke kitchen it's a custom made kitchen
The work is ongoing. No it's not, it's continuing

Can't sleep watching ETTC

For the past couple of months I have a DD being taken by O2 from my bank. Since we have O2, it went unnoticed. I just can’t figure out which number this is for.

I need to stop it. So I cancelled it, but it got reinstated. Trying to contact O2 is not possible since they say ‘call from that number’ .. and I don’t know what number that is.

I might raise it with Ofcom next.. bloody irritating

If your bank details have leaked into the wild, this could be someone else setting it up fraudulently.
It happened to me a lot a few years ago when I was with Lloyds - spurious DDs getting set up which I had to delete.
I asked Lloyds to put a flag on the account so that new DDs cannot be set up without them checking with me first, but that flag kept disappearing every 6 months.
In the end the only way to deal with it was to switch banks.

PS. The police aren't interested, even though between them the bank and the company setting up the DD would have all the info required to identify the thief.

Just returned from Barcelona, lovely City but full of robbers.
Twice in les than an hour:
1. On a crowded Metro when somebody tried to get into Mrs3OTT’s bag. Think we are savvy as nothing is in there as Credit card and sprint cash in pocket.

2. Heard something similar about being sprayed with bird line but in this case both our coats has spray, copious amounts on the back.
Initially I thought it may have been from a workman above but yhe position was so exact with probably 10 Hughes splashes on each coat.

A “helpful man” well dressed offered to take us in his house to clean it up.

Dread to think what would have happened if we had gone inside.

Awful place for pick pockets. You have to be so, so careful there.

I remember the first time I went, I travelled carrying a hold-all. I got on a very busy metro at the airport, and as I squeezed through the doors a “helpful” man pulled my bag in what could easily have been interpreted as an attempt to help me board. What he was in fact doing was pulling my hands away from my sides so that his mate could make a grab for my wallet from the front pocket of my jeans. I realised what was going on straight away and managed to give the accomplice a dig in the ribs as his hand went in my pocket.

I’m told that’s a classic tactic out there. And anyone travelling with a rucksack on their back there on public transport is another target. Whenever I’m there my rucksack is carried on my front.

@3offTheTee @Billysboots it's really sad and I don't understand why the authorities don't do more. Barcelona, Rome, Paris, all infamous for pick pockets and the like. When it's like that why don't the council, or equivalent, flood the key areas with hi vis wearing employees who are there to stop this sort of thing. Coordinate with the police, really hammer them.

Why would you allow your city to be famous for petty theft? As soon as you tell someone you are going there it's one of the first things people say, beware.

We were in Barcelona in the summer and constantly being on guard doesn't add to the experience, quite the opposite of course.

Luke Littler getting hammered on social media for being pictured with a copy of the Sun.
Ok it’s a scum paper, but wind your necks in 😬

Brother-in-law, retired chief inspector, had his wallet and mobile lifted from his front trouser pocket on the metro there. He’d even put his handkerchief on top of them to ‘force’ them down. He said he never felt a thing.

I may occasionally get into his ribs when he mentions it.

All credit to him. If I was a retired CI I would mention it to nobody

It's not really an irritation, rather a consideration.

I've noticed quite a number (mainly young woman) driving and holding the the steering wheel with one hand at the 12:00 o clock position. If I try this I find it a rather unstable way to control the steering versus my normal 10 to 2 position.

Any of you use this method?

Allows them to use the other to continue holding on to their mobile (removal requires surgery donchaknow 🙄)

10-2 has been replaced by a recommendation of using quarter to 3 instead.
10-2 can, in some instances, slightly block airbags which reduce their effectiveness.
One hand at 12 will certainly do this....
These days, in the test, they don't seem too bothered about how you steer as long as you have control although 1 hand doing a 360 on the wheel may be frowned upon....
