Except a lot of Junior Doctors prefer that as it more accurately describes them…as they effectively do apprenticeship training from their qualification and choice of career path through to becoming a Consultant, that’s assuming the apprenticeship they seek is available…and they can afford to pay for it.Junior doctors being described as "Doctors in training" by the Health secretary on the BBC this morning

Correct. They don't from the various social media posts I've seen. They are still fully qualified doctors.
It's gaslighting.

They will be named when they reach 18, I believe.
They shouldn't be allowed to reach 18, their poor victim wasn't.

The MP is gaslighting
I may not have agreed with MPs in the past but at least I respected them. This current bunch seem just pure horrible people
That's being polite.
They are fully qualified as doctors but referring to them as ‘Junior’ Doctors until they are Consultants demeans them in that almost all are undergoing training towards becoming a consultant. I am only reflecting the thoughts of a number of doctors I have heard expressing a preference for being referred to as a doctor in training (even though traditionally that is used for the first two post grad years) over being called a junior doctor - which suggests a doctor just out of school. They don't from the various social media posts I've seen. The minister knew exactly what she was doing and was trying to belittle junior doctors and make the public feel they aren’t worth the money they seek by referring to them as doctors in training. They are fully qualified as doctors but referring to them as ‘Junior’ Doctors until they are Consultants demeans them in that almost all are undergoing training towards becoming a consultant. I suggest that the minister has heard such thoughts, and thinks she is onto a good thing (sucking up to them) by referring to the doctors accordingly - well she might.
Far be it from me to be in the slightest bit supportive of any government minister on any matter whatsoever, I believe she has been advised that many junior doctors think ‘doctors in training‘ is preferable. I certainly heard that view being expressed when a radio presenter was asking for junior doctors to tell us how they’d prefer to be referred to.The minister knew exactly what she was doing and was trying to belittle junior doctors and make the public feel they aren’t worth the money they seek by referring to them as doctors in training.
Disgusting and sick actions by two kids who, for me, must be sick in mind and mentally ill (you can call it evil, I’ll call it sick).
I think you’re being a tad naive.Far be it from me to be in the slightest bit supportive of any government minister on any matter whatsoever, I believe she has been advised that many junior doctors think ‘doctors in training‘ is preferable. That said I can see very easily that that description may make it seem to some that those on strike and seeking improved remuneration are doctors fresh out of uni…when they are mostly not. For me to say more than that and what I think on the matter and the current health Secretary would take me over the line.
I cannot comment more explicitly on what I think the Health Sec. is up to, I simply mention what I heard some doctors say on alternatives to being called ‘junior’. Quite possibly their thinking was in the minority of their colleagues.I think you’re being a tad naive.
In effect that will be what happens, since if they are released at any point they will be on licence and under close scrutiny and monitoring for rest of their lives.I don't think Brianna Ghey's parents care, she was stabbed 28 times, to me that is evil and I would name them today and throw away the key.
