How much is the fine for taking granddaughter out of school? Almost certainly alot less than the difference in holiday cost.

I don't think the teachers were fined when they went on strike without giving any notice, forcing parents to either take holiday or find child care ............................ without prior warning!

In a bar where i live. Like the bar, it's one of those small ones that used to be a shop. Anyway, they've changed over all the pumps to Brewdog. All very fashionable but not for me. I'm drinking one called Wingman and it has undertones of washing up liquid 😔.

I may not be coming back. Shame

When they first started they were good with some good beers.
Made it all about money and now their beers are more like bin juice

I really like Hazy Jane, but all their others I've tried have that sort of fake, chemical flavourings taste.

They gave the parents no notice, sorry to burst your bubble.

The school would be given 2 weeks minimum notice

They will have communicated that to the parents via , letter email or the app in some schools

Infact adding to this the dates are announced nationally in the press well in advance of the 2 weeks notice aswell, to which parents have access

For example

July strikes were announced in June

Incorrect and, before you try to correct me, you weren't there.

Indeed your correct I wasn't there.

Let's return to your statement

"I don't think the teachers were fined when they went on strike without giving any notice, forcing parents to either take holiday or find child care ............................ without prior warning!"

So yes the teachers were fined. A days wages each day

And yes they did give prior warning

2 weeks in advance , reported in the press

Now I fully agree with your moan about holiday costs.

I fully agree that strikes are annoying

Good evening

Slime and PJ87 - you are both right. The unions gave notice of the strike but individual teachers did not need to say if they were striking so parents didn’t know until the day of their kids could attend
Similar situation with Driving Examiners....strike days were confirmed but they didn't know who was going to strike and who wasn't....
