Our local rugby club does an organised fireworks display, money going to the club and local charities. The estate that I live on is above the club, the club is through a wood, down a hill. People come to the estate to watch the fireworks and avoid paying the entrance fee. I've just walked the dog and there are stacks of them waiting for it to start 😠.

Took your spot did they 🤣

The Rugby club across the field behind our estate used to have one every year
We could watch most of it from the bedroom window although we did go a few times.
It stopped some time ago, officially due to the massive insurance costs.
But it was more likely to be the residents moaning about the whole village being bought to a standstill by abandoned cars....
So no local organised displays.
And im not sure there's a cost of living crisis around here as its been non stop Beirut for the last couple of hours and it was much the same last night

Losing our water supply this afternoon, I'm just one of 13,500 apparently, another 6,500 expected to join us.
Thames Water have declared a major incident in Godalming.
Well, it's also impacting Compton, Milford, Witley and my mum's part of Guildford!
I need a shower.

Just watched Celebrity SAS. Good for Gareth Gates but the other 2 Hancock and Lloyd! it was unfair.

The 2 “failures”should never have hd to do the lat test as it hd already been decided. The Instructor said if anybody does more than 1 minute he will be surprised.
The 2 guys did and naturally it was more difficult for the lady.

They had pre conceived ideas about Hancock and if he had been Mr average he would have “passed”

I don’t think they choose who’s going to do what, or get where. From all the ones I have seen since the first appearance of this program, the DS are actually quite good at helping participants better themselves.

I didn’t realise you lived that way... mum in law is in Elstead and was unaffected. But a friend of hers rang to ask her, so she started to panic in case.

Yeah, I'm in Godalming ............................. and still it's just a dribble from the taps, certainly not enough for a shower.
It takes forever just to fill the kettle.

I'm in a very similar area (Wormley) and we're good. However, the school in Milford is closed due to water issues.

Couldn't agree more. Never seen it decided like that before and 100% Hancock would pass if he was a random soldier they took for recruitment.

Shame as I generally like the programme but that was a poor ending to this series.

The over-emoting by the public and media about family issues of ‘celebrities’. Current ‘favourite’ being Luis Diaz. Of course I get his concern and the concern of his, and family, friends…and of course I hope things turn out well for them, but what we are getting at the moment seems just a bit over the top. It really isn’t one of the most important concerns for the country and of such importance that it is reported as headline news.

There are much more important things going on in this country and abroad at the moment that demand our attention and concern.

People using the joke thread to show their political stances and abhorrent social views.

“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so ******* what."

Stephen Fry.

Oh I absolutely agree with what Fry says, both he and Ricky Gervais have great opinions on what we have the right to say. But I can still be irritated that people have those views, right? I haven’t reported anyone for their comments.

Ah I see you think woke is an insult. That explains that.
