Buying from Druids.

The boy needed a new waterproof golf jacket. That has turned up and looks ok for the price if you ignore the 90s shell suit sound track.

I bought a cheap crew neck sweater. Had low expectations but with a RRP of nearly £50 you expect a certain level of quality.

Firstly, it’s massive. I ordered large and it is at least 2 sizes bigger. And it’s got a cut in it.

You are probably aware that you can renew on line. I telephoned them a few weeks ago , when my renewal was due as I didn’t want to pay the online renewal price. I stated immediately that I dont intend to threaten disconnection, but I would like to reduce my monthly costs. A very polite 10 minutes of conversation resulted in a reduced monthly fee.

We are just about to do the same. It's really poor service that you have to do this each time.
The guys on the messaging service are really unhelpful, I started the “conversation” hoping they would offer me something comparable to what Virgin are offering. They didn’t need to beat it just get close. (I’m pretty lazy and don’t fancy the hassle of switching) but the attitude of “Siddesh” has given me the hump and I’ve escalated it to a full cancellation… hope they come back with a better offer within the next 3 weeks! 😄

This was what they offered me….IMG_0957.jpeg

When I explained it was not close to the Virgin bigger bundle with an extra box and Netflix added he got a bit shirty saying I was not comparing like for like and perhaps I should leave!

Sorry, cant get the info at the moment, I’ve tried to access my future payments but it won’t load. My November bill is a mix plus changeover costs.

Doing a friend a favour by erecting an adjustable bed table for her as she is just our of hospital with a broken hip.
Opened the box to find loose parts, the underside of the table scratched and wear/scuff marks on the metal supports.
She was annoyed but told me to go ahead anyway as it was just what she wanted.
Fixed it up quite easy but when it came to adjusting the table it would not turn back to horizontal. Solidly locked on.
Firm could not send a new one until Monday.
Can't re box it as it is in the slant position.

Competitive parents. At a gymnastics competition today with my daughter. Her friend (one of the favourites) stumbled, knocking her out of contention. A parent sat a few rows in front of me openly celebrated. He didn’t have the same verve when I collared him on the quiet on the way to the toilet.
This reminds me of my mates dad last year. My mate plays professional rugby for Sale Sharks and, with a full strength squad, is a fringe player really.

During one of the playoff games last season, one of the starters went off with a niggly injury and my mates dad couldn't contain his excitement in the stands and punched the air as it meant my mate would have a chance of getting in the squad for the final at Twickenham.

According to my mate, when the injured players replacement also had to come off his dad loudly said "oh this day just gets better and better!" as his lad woukd now likely be starting in the final. His brother had to give him a dig to get him to shut up 🤣.

The ridiculous dance that is renewing your Sky package, two days of messaging service for nothing, now got to go through with the threat of disconnection.😡

Just curious re renewal, is it just a nickname thing or do sky actually offer fixed term contracts now that need renewed (they never used to when I was in UK)

Bottled gas we use for cooking running out on a Sunday afternoon (yes I have spare bottles but they were empty too!, my fault)
Not the best time to need to find a store that's not only open but has gas in stock

Luckily got three bottles that'll see us through to about easter for £11

The contracts tend to last for 18 months. You agree your deal, it can increase with inflation, but that's that. After 18 months they try to hike things up dramatically and the dance begins again.

Our local rugby club does an organised fireworks display, money going to the club and local charities. The estate that I live on is above the club, the club is through a wood, down a hill. People come to the estate to watch the fireworks and avoid paying the entrance fee. I've just walked the dog and there are stacks of them waiting for it to start 😠.
