Edge banding. Horrible job. Building a set of wardrobes for a client and have to edge band 60 individual panels, 25 of them all round edges.

Think I need a new iron for the workshop as the current one will be in its last legs after this.

50m of banding used so far and still a fair few panels need done. Not sure I’ll take on another wardrobe order, or at least not one of this magnitude.
Do you not have an edge banding tool/dispenser?

@rudebhoy I can certainly confirm that shelter no. 3 was out of action last Friday and we got very wet running to no. 4, thankfully working. People are strange.
The driver did say there are now signs in the bus stops with a phone number you can call on your mobile to get the bus to come if their handset is out of order. I never noticed it as it was pitch black, but worth bearing in mind.

Driving home last night on the A303/A30. Get to that old part of the A30 just east of Honiton which is little better than a country lane (single carriageway, fairly narrow).
Find temporary lights protecting a stretch of about 20 yards of one side of the road. There is no hole in the road, so presumably it's for some kind of work off to the side. Nobody is there working. I guess they've knocked off for the night (possibly the whole weekend). It's about 5.40pm on Friday at the end of half-term, so quite busy. Would have taken them about 10mins to clear away the lights, but oh no, let's just leave them there to cause havoc!

This is just another example of a selfish "don't give a stuff about anyone else" attitude that seems to have reached epidemic proportions with roadworks. (Two weeks ago the Lewes bypass was closed overnight, but on the Sunday they just left it closed during the day and routed all the traffic through the middle of town, which is an oldy-worldy place with lots of very narrow streets).

Being forced into a Cornish Handshake by a muppet who has no idea how small his car actually is.

In my world, a Cornish Handshake is where door mirrors of passing cars hit each other.
In Cornwall it is due to very narrow lanes, hence the name, but in this instance there were cars parked either side of the road leaving a much narrower gap than usual, but it is a wide road.
There was easily enough room for two cars to pass, but the other driver didn't realise that he was driving a very small car and suddenly scooched way too far over, causing our mirrors to hit.
Mine folded in but left the glass hanging out, (which was easily popped back in), whilst his mirror was last seen bouncing in the road.
Muppet!

Road drain cleaning truck of a subcontractor to Thames Water managed to knock down a stretch of our front garden boundary wall early this past week. Driver admitted he did it and we have his telephone number and vehicle reg, plus we have a witness. I’ve logged with our insurers but we‘ve still heard nothing from his boss or his company insurers. A good few days now - you’d have thought that at least a courtesy call from the company…and it really shouldn’t be up to me to start chasing 🙁

I remember few years ago a learner hit side of my car. Very slow speed but the instructor rightly wanted to use insurance

I kept calling my company to say have you got the details so I can have my excess back please? Took them a month ... Even tho it was the same insurance company and he had done his part the day after me 😆

Mrs H put the clocks forward. Due in a comp at 10am. Alarm went off at 6:30am, 8:30 by her setting. So pleased.

Joys of young kids

0520 the one who always wakes first got me up

However as their clock (that goes yellow when their allowed to wake up) is normally set for 0630 I couldn't be too annoyed as was 10 mins early by body clock

On the plus side 1 extra hour before we had to head to swimming lessons
