I would say there are 3 categories
Smart.....jacket and tie
Smart casual....slacks, jacket, no tie
Casual...jeans, t-shirt, trainers.

Just my opinion.

This reminded me of a bloke from work who used to wear a black or grey suit every day, with white shirt and a tie.

We have casual Fridays and he'd really let his hair down for this by taking his tie off .

It brings back really fond memories of watching Dad's Army with my dad when I was about 4 or 5. He had tears rolling down his face at this scene and although I never really got it at the time his laughter was so infectious we were both curled up howling at it.

When I was in the RAF I worked for a few years with BAE Systems. They had ‘dress down’ Fridays and everyone came in wearing their company polo shirts - looked more uniform than the RAF

Wolves vs Chelsea on Christmas eve, that's going to be an interesting conversation when she gets in tonight.

To make it worse, one of our longest away trips is now on a Monday night.

You take the tv money, you get what you're given, but there's little consideration for match going fans.

There's absolutely no need to be playing that game or any other game for that matter, on Xmas eve. Scandalous decison.

I'd love both sets of fans to boycott it, i know it wont happen but one can hope.

There has to come a point where we say enough is enough.

I heard Alan Brazil say "you dont have to go the game, it'll be on TV and they'll have commentary" like its acceptable.

OK, looking at it from a rugby perspective but as a home fan I have been to matches on Xmas eve and New Years Eve and both have been great. Really fun festive atmosphere, whole families at the match together, great fun. Now, that has 2 provisos. Firstly, it was as a home fan. I would be furious as an away fan, as I have been when Tigers have had to play big matches in the South West on Christmas and New Year. It is also based on the fact that rugby tickets are more widely available and so you can get tickets for the whole family.

In general, I agree, it is a pretty poor thing to do especially as they leaked the news, presumably to gauge the reaction, which was outrage, then went ahead anyway. That said, I cannot deny that, as a home fan, i have had a blast at Xmas eve matches.

It's not for us anymore, absolutely zero consideration for the match going fan. You also need to think about the staff who'll be taken away from their families, stewards, bar staff etc.
I'll be there and back in 3 hours, feel for Chelsea fans, it's a whole day thing.

But I'd check what the venue expects in case you don't get in the door to access the "hospitality."

Got to the local airport last night. Parked in long stay, it was absolutely chucking it down, so we ran to the nearest bus stop. You are supposed to use a phone in the shelter to get the bus to come. There was a sign saying the phone was out of order.

Sprinted to the next stop, same sign. Fortunately the bus came round the corner just as we were contemplating another wet sprint.

We got on and I said to the driver "what's the problem with the phones?". He said "It's vandalism, about half of them are out, we keep fixing them, and people keep smashing them up".

This is in a very secure car park, so can only be getting done by punters. I don't know if it's a protest at the rip off prices they charge, but I can't get my head around the mindset of someone going on holiday (or coming back) and thinking "let's smash up the phone". It beggars belief.

@rudebhoy I can certainly confirm that shelter no. 3 was out of action last Friday and we got very wet running to no. 4, thankfully working. People are strange.

Edge banding. Horrible job. Building a set of wardrobes for a client and have to edge band 60 individual panels, 25 of them all round edges.

Think I need a new iron for the workshop as the current one will be in its last legs after this.

50m of banding used so far and still a fair few panels need done. Not sure I’ll take on another wardrobe order, or at least not one of this magnitude.
