People sharing videos of the horrific injury to a Nottingham Panthers player at the weekend. Especially given the poor lad tragically die from the injury.

What is wrong with people. 🤬
A friend and colleague was at the game and she left the moment she saw the blood. She knew what she was witnessing so got out right away. She’s not had any experience in emergency medicine since she was at Uni so knew she couldn’t help. Awful.

I’ve only seen one from YouTube yesterday and thankfully it was quite blurry. Not quite sure how the other fella got his skates up so high, first impression was he tried to go for him 😱

I haven’t seen it. And don’t want to.

However, having read about what happened and having played hundreds of games. I would be extremely surprised if there was any deliberate attempt to hit another player with a skate, especially near the head. It’s just not how the game is played. There is a respect and trust amongst players given how physical and dangerous the sport is.

I came onto this thread to say how irritated I am by the state of Twitter, especially the bots situation which is now totally out of control, and I hadn't realised how much so until this.

The incident and outcome is far more than a random irritation, incredibly sad.

My best mate played for the Panthers for years and still does some work for the team, he's seen it and said it was an accident, unfortunately a tragic one.

I hope she is ok, and gets any help she needs.

Does anyone actually set the clock in the car or do they do what I do and just leave it and drive around for 6 months of the year with the clock an hour out?
I do mine because it's very easy. There's a button on the dashboard that says 'clock' so I clicked it, then the down arrow to change the hour, then clicked ok. :D

I haven’t owned a car in the last 7 years that doesn’t adjust the time automatically.

I’d have thought that would be quite a common feature now.
Mine keeps the correct time but I have to tell it to move to Daylight Saving Time or not. But that is the work of a moment.
In the house, the only clocks that don't automatically update are on the two ovens. I have to adjust them as I like to be able to look up and see the time. I don't particularly want to pull my phone out of my pocket every time I want to know what time it is.

A friend has just posted an article on my missus' WhatsApp group which is basically discriminatory and inflammatory, and also basically untrue. It's not her who posted it originally but it comes up with lots of statements which are not true and are designed to be inflammatory and misinform.
My missus is raging and has gone back to her friend with a very strong response (helped with wording by me).
There is enough hate, bigotry, pain and suffering in the world without people trying to make it worse by spreading stuff like this.
I despair as people are happy to disbelieve anything on the mainstream news agencies because of their "hidden agenda" but will believe what they read on Social Media if it fits their own personal agenda.

I never have the sound on my phone, ever, for things like messages or calls. The only time it makes a noise is the alarm to wake me up.
So if someone calls you, the phone doesn't ring?
I know it's basically a small computer, but it IS a telephone. Surely you need to know when a call comes in?

I worked out years ago I'm much more likely to feel it vibrate in my pocket than to hear it ringing anyway. Likewise if it's sat on a desk you can hear the vibration.

I worked out a while ago how to do different tones for people on whatsapp

All groups mute

Vibrate for friends

Noise for the overtime group 😂
