Went to the driving range, all went well. Got home, walked around the back of the car and someone has clearly reversed into my boot 🤬. No note 🤬.

I've messaged the club where the range is to see if they have CCTV in the car park, don't expect so, or if someone saw the muppet who did it.
It can't be popped out, can anything be popped on a modern car now?, so it will cost £300 to resolve, just had the quotes back. Thank you very much. I hope whoever did this has a severe case of the shanks and yips all season 🤬

I'm trying to improve the spreadsheet I use for our Thursday night football games. Trying to use conditional formatting so that three cells change colour based on what is entered for one of those cells. I've done the formula for it but there is seemingly no way to copy it down - if you duplicate the formula, or format paste, whatever you do it just formats them based on the cell at the top of the column instead of the relevant cell all the way down. So I would have to enter this conditional formatting individually for each cell, which means doing it over 180 times. Sort of negates the point of even having it and I might as well colour them manually each week. 😖

Does this thread about it help?

Been hearing about the evolution of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The most misused reference I've ever heard about evolution which means the production of beautiful new life forms over a long period of time.
It does not mean a low grade loud noise and dancing in a large room.
No. Evolution isn't about producing beautiful new forms. It's about selecting those forms which are best suited to survive in the environment in which they find themselves.

And in terms of Eurovision, the environment is one where the audience has zero taste and wouldn't recognise good music if it slapped them in the face.
So the stuff that's being presented is perfectly suited - and therefore evolution is a valid term

Work issued a Saturday working rota, and I am on it for some reason. I've not worked a Saturday in 11 years with the company, because it's not required for my role at all. Not in my contract or anything. They've also done it on the day of the Club Championships so there's absolutely no way I'll be there. Conversations tomorrow should be fun. :cautious:

Why do you do that?

Strimmer line dehydrates over time, becomes brittle and snaps very easily.
Leaving it in a bucket of water for a few hours rehydrates the line which makes it more supple and, as a result, it doesn't snap so easily, lasts much longer and saves me money!
It also saves the hassle of reloading the spool too often, which is a real pain in the backside.

HSBC are closing my local branch. I want+need to make a CHAPS payment. Only way to do it over the phone is to switch to a premier account. So I try to switch to a premier account. They won't switch me because the amount of money I'm moving temporarily takes me out of eligibility of the Premier account.

Raging.

Haven't looked into it too much but first direct don't have branches, they are a branch of HSBC but with much more focus on customer service

Worth opening one of theirs and seeing if chaps can be done by them?

Natural selection is like artificial selection but the former is over geological time.
As the Eurovision Song Contest has only been around for about 60 years it might be considered artificial I suppose.

The phrase "endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful" occurs in the closing statement of Charles Darwin's 1859 book On the Origin of Species.
Argue with that if you can.

Hmm. You might want to re-think on that?

The word evolution pre-dates Darwin by a couple of hundred years. And natural selection can occur in considerably less than geological time. Peppered moth anyone?

Companies hiding behind terms and conditions

Dryer squeeking, repair man came. Oiled it up. Squeek went. But soon as he left that evening it's back

Comes again yesterday, of course no squeek. He leaves , call you tomorrow by 9am (Hasnt called)

Get on the chat to chase up another appointment as the squeek is now worse ...

Now their hiding behind might have to charge for no fault found

Excuse me? The fault was found. Then made worse (not blaming him) but the fault is there!!!

Been away for the week while the kitchen was getting ripped out and new one fitted.
Come back today, builder mentioned the upstands weren’t delivered. Phoned magnet who were nonchalant about it and said “oh it’s in the warehouse, feel free to come and pick them up”…..
they’ve already had my money so had to pick them up. Fortunately had access to a van.
Magnet had been brilliant so far…

People who have no idea what to do when emergency services have lights and sirens on.

Today I witnessed some knob in a van just carry on driving and then a minute or so later a woman just strolled across the road in front of another police car

House of Games tonight. You have to get closest to the answer. When did cleopatra come to power/born, can't remember which one? 1492 was one answer given 😳. Honestly, the level of stupidity is frightening at times.

What always surprises me is how clueless news readers and reporters often are. Popstars I can partly forgive, although not the above answer from a Pussycat Doll 🙄, but news people 🤷🏻‍♂️
