They aren't as good as they used to be

I just bought a phone and went SIM only because they couldn't do a deal

£10 a month now
Got a Samsung A54 for £29 a month and no up front fee. To get that phone as an upgrade through O2 directly it was north of £40 a month.

Couldn’t you just get the number ported over?
I was already on O2 and I'm still on O2. All they had to do was swap my number over, and cancel the old Sim-only contract (so I'm not paying twice). I thought it would take 10 minutes not over an hour.

Yeah it's mad how O2 can't do these deals .. O2 wanted 3 year contracts for anything

Yeah I forgot that too, mine's only a two year contract whereas that O2 price was for three-year. The difference is crazy. Same mins/texts/data as well.

They claim the costs.. blah blah . Where as you can go anywhere get sim only for data and bamn it's dirt cheap

Me and the wife our contracts now cost me £17 a month total SIM only

I've started to see all phone contracts have become is loans , that run just long enough until u need a new one. Decided to loan myself the cash for the phone from savings and did a standing order to make it same as my old phone deal was

Will pay back in what 18 months rather than 2 years .. con artists

Except for Alfred Russel Wallace, of course.
How do you know who first thought of natural selection?
It probably was Darwin and he was the first to publish in 1859.
Wallace (who declared himself English and not Welsh) later took up the world of the paranormal.
He did write a great travelogue called The Malay Archipelago so I do respect him.

The nutrition info on food packaging and how they try to pull the wool over your eyes. My packet of Quavers has info and above it reads "Each 30g serving contains:" But the size of the pack is 34g. So should I take three of the crisps out and throw them in the bin to meet their recommended serving size? All this so they can pretend it's slightly less calories than it is. What nonsense. Same with the 500ml Coke bottles and they count a portion as 250ml. Who the heck is drinking half of those and putting it back in the fridge? Nobody!

Apparently a serving size for a large Papa Jons pizza is 2 slices. So I was slightly over when I ate a whole one on Saturday night 😂

Add breakfast cereal portion sizing. Who the hell just covers the bottom of the bowl with their cereal?!

Isn't the nutritional info on a pack of Quavers just a blank box ;)

SmartSwitch has transferred most things from my old phone to the new one quite easily it seems. But WhatsApp has a mind of it's own. I've only got messages up to April 28th. Trying to get the rest of them by doing a manual backup but it won't pick it up on the new one. Why can't WhatsApp work through SmartSwitch like everything else??

Yeah pizza companies are another culprit. "Pizza Meal Deal for 4! One large pizza..." Let me just stop you there.
I once got an email offering me the chance to win "a year's supply of gin". Excellent I thought, that will save me a bit of cash. When I read the small print it was actually only 12 bottles. That's not a year's supply that's a weekend party at our house.

Nobody knows who thought of it first. It could well have been Darwin. Probably was.
But it is certainly the case that Darwin and Wallace thought of it independently.
In other words, Wallace had conceived of it before he was aware of Darwin's work.
That's all I was pointing out - that Wallace gets short changed and all the glory seems to be heaped on Darwin (who to be fair did develop the ideas more thoroughly).

I’m getting mine ported in today having changed provider to Lebara…but no indication of what sort of time it’ll happen. Meanwhile last night I tried to follow instructions in email from them on configuring my phone setup, and ok…changed Vodafone to Lebara for mobile data, but that’s not the only setting that mentions the supplier, so what do I do about them. On the phone I’ll have to go.

I do wish tech suppliers would realise that for many of us the approach ‘if I tell them to do X they’ll realise they have to do Y and Z without needing to be told’…just doesn’t work. If I don‘t have to change the other settings and that they will change without my intervention…then just tell me that.

Eurovision coverage on the BBC.
I know it shouldn’t bother me but it has been mentioned daily on Radio 5 for weeks and now it’s intruding on my midweek casual tv viewing.
I don’t pay my tv licence to have this tripe shoved down my face all day long.
Yours
Angry in Gateshead
Stop paying the licence then.

Had to have a tooth removed as the crown had broken and caused some damage to the root. I'm planning to have an implant fitted next year once it has fully healed and my dental cover renews, for now I've got a denture in place. Feels like I've got of bag of pebbles in my mouth and I can barely talk (may be a good thing :ROFLMAO: ), please tell me it gets better

Get your implant as soon as you can would be my advice, that dentures are a nightmare.
You’ll be doing a lot of long and slow Cooking for now 😂😂

I feel for you. mrs 3OTT had to have 8 teeth replaced due partially to gum disease. it has not finished yet and has been ongoing for approaching 12 months and is not cheap.

The end is in sight for her and I wish you well.
