My annoying OCD habit. When putting on my shoes it has to be my right shoe first. If, by accident, I pick up the left one first I put it down and then pick up the right one. And then there’s tying the laces. I don’t tie the laces till both are on, and then I tie the right one first.

I don’t usually realise I’m OCD till I pick the wrong one up first, and then it becomes annoying.

I'm left shoe first, socks can be in any order, but shoes are ALWAYS left one first.

I've never seen so much rubbish on the side of the road.
And not just here and there, everywhere.
I've just had a quick look on Google Earth from May 2022 and it looks much cleaner.
I can only imagine what overseas visitors must think of this country.

We were on the A1 a couple of weeks ago and thought the amount of roadside rubbish varied across the county borders - Nottinghamshire was very bad.

Life is very hard for some people right now as the cost of living crisis bites deeply. But interviewing someone in a food bank who clearly pays for Botox… get your priorities right…
Though we probably don’t know the context of when the Botox was done…maybe she had paid for it when money wasn’t a problem and before tough times hit…? But yes…I do often wonder at how some folks spend their money on stuff that seems unnecessary - and that includes me - and then plead ‘poverty’.

Truth is with food banks maybe one reason some use them is simply to enable them to introduce some variety to their diet - getting some staples from the food bank and using what little cash they have for food for maybe a ‘treat‘ or two…like an apple a day for their kids Nb. A Tesco pack of 5 apples costs £1.60, sufficient to cover the cost of 5 meals 🤔

I worked quite closely with food banks, and 99% of the time your heart breaks. I do get the idea of treats now and again. Try standing in there for a couple of hours. You will hear a client talk about nights out or a holiday in the sun. It happens…

This is very much a local one. Newcastle are going to Wembley and a number of shops are putting in the window the song that has been adopted, 'tell me Ma, me Ma, I wont be home for tea, I'm going to Wembley, tell me Ma, me Ma'. It's done the rounds for years, I'm sure many are familiar with it.

Why irritating? No one up here uses Ma, it's Mam. Not mum, mother and certainly not Ma. It's Mam. If you are going to sing the song, make it your own. I'm irrationally irritated by every local shop putting this up and posting it on Facebook.
