This is a slightly churlish one but what the heck. The mother of a lady at work has made a Christmas cake for us to eat at work. I'm pretty much the only one who eats it, I'm quite happy with that . I've had my first slice today, there is no marzipan . I'll repeat that, no marzipan . I love that on the cake and it's missing. I now have a large Christmas cake to eat on my own without my favourite part of it being there. (1st world problem, I know)
Because willpower and being responsible for your own actions have gone the same way as common sense. Relics of the past.Bringing Cake to work is like passive smoking, apparently. ??
Keep cake away from office, suggests food watchdog head https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64315384
I saw that . I do get the point and it is something we actually looked at and changed our thinking a few years back. Cake day was becoming a habit, we employed two obese people at the time and we decided to stop the habit and bring in a fruit bowl instead. We now provide apples and oranges foc for all the staff. We still get cakes in on staff birthdays but as there are only 4 of us that isn't a big deal. Take away the clickbait headline and there is a reasonable argument in there.Bringing Cake to work is like passive smoking, apparently. ??

Yeah, at least that way the obese people will get 5 minutes walking in when getting their own cake from the shops.I saw that . It's psychology at work though. People are incredibly easy to manipulate, hugely easy, so a simple cultural, office change in mindset will help. If someone wants to bring in their own cake every day then they can, just don't offer some out to everyone else.I think Orikoru’s reply is perfect.
Never celebrated when he played for us, or join in when someone else scored. Actually he did celebrate one goal just before he signed for Palace by kneeling down by himself and pretending to sign a contract. Didn’t go down well with our fans. No doubt will do the same before his move to France. Don’t think he had many fans amongst Reading players. ?Clickbait articles that don't even answer the question they are baiting you with. Just seen an article titled "The reason why Olise didn't celebrate against Man Utd" - opened the article and they've asked an ex-teammate of his, who said that he doesn't know why. So what's the bloody reason then?? Sod off!

Good player though! Maybe he's like Balotelli. Someone asked him why he doesn't celebrate goals and he said "Scoring goals is my job - a postman doesn't celebrate every time he posts a letter." Fair enough! The Roy Keane school of thought.Never celebrated when he played for us, or join in when someone else scored. I used to feel the same about intelligent people. They were always trying to take over, run things, get early promotions etc.See this is why I don’t employ fatties. Their lack of will power should not dictate how you run your company. ?

Their cleverness should not dictate how a company should be run, should it?

Absolutely superb scheme from that chap. (Possibly wrong thread)WRT the cakes. We used to have 50 plus workers in our office, there were not many weeks when we didn’t have cake or donuts. One time, instead of cakes etc, a chap brought in loads of bread loafs and then at lunchtime had the local chippie deliver a boat load of chips.
One of my former bosses didn't like cake, so whenever it was his birthday he would buy pizza for everyone in the office for lunch. I really liked that boss.WRT the cakes.
