Of course - this is one of the reasons I gave my director for why I need to be at home. Not 1.5 hours away in central London, at the mercy of train strikes.
Ask your GP to sign you off for stress. It isn’t a lie. You are stressed by the situation.

Churlish. But justified. This is a slightly churlish one but what the heck. The mother of a lady at work has made a Christmas cake for us to eat at work. I'm pretty much the only one who eats it, I'm quite happy with that . I've had my first slice today, there is no marzipan . I'll repeat that, no marzipan . I love that on the cake and it's missing. I now have a large Christmas cake to eat on my own without my favourite part of it being there. (1st world problem, I know)

Simply give them 2 options
You approve me working from home , keeping you working and the job progressing
Or you go sick
Should everyone work from home or threaten to go off sick when the trains are striking again or is this person specific advice?
@Orikoru I I’ve spent many years working with the type your construction director sounds like. They operate by everyone caving in to them. Do yourself and everyone else a favour and stand up to them. You have an agreement to handover in a perfectly acceptable way. That should be that. Your CD sounds like the typical old fashioned construction bully.
Feel free to PM if you need someone to talk to ??
I could buy a packet of marzipan, roll it out, and then cut a bit off each day to have with a slice of the cake. All quite manageable but a bit of a faff. It ultimately is not a big deal but I think does come under the heading of randomly irritating .@Lord Tyrion Feel free to PM if you need someone to talk to ??
(been trying to think how you might use a tesco Battenberg as a 'donor cake' and cobble something edible together from the two)
Not a big deal!!! ? It's literally the best thing about Christmas cake and I'd be having a word with cake maker and either getting them to retrofit the marzipan or make another.I could buy a packet of marzipan, roll it out, and then cut a bit off each day to have with a slice of the cake. Not sure I would want to break up a Battenburg. They are so wonderful as they are, great cakes with a cup of tea
And make sure they bring in the off cuts for you to eat.Not a big deal!!! ? It's literally the best thing about Christmas cake and I'd be having a word with cake maker and either getting them to retrofit the marzipan or make another.
Would probably take another week to get an appointment with them!Ask your GP to sign you off for stress. It isn’t a lie. You are stressed by the situation.

Okay, this was exactly what I was thinking but felt it was a bit excessive. Now I know I'm not alone and was right all along ...............And make sure they bring in the off cuts for you to eat.
