I have no idea why it’s so expensive…though I guess the value of my house means rebuild cost of my 3 bed semi is going to be higher than most other areas of the UK. I’ve got nothing out of the ordinary in respect of cover.

LV which is who we use have £1 million on Home or unlimited rebuild cover on Home Plus. Rebuild costs won't vary so much by where you live. House valuations will though.

Just got my renewal notice. Last year £153.52. This year £168.54. Hmmm. £15 increase. Might not bother to negotiate. Nearest confuse the meerkat could do was £198ish but they didn't include Home Emergency and Home Legal cover which my existing provider does. Golf equipment cover incl up to £2,500 plus other sports equipment.

Is there a "smug" emoji anywhere? ;)
Quick check of CtM and I can get what I think I need for £250-£350 depending on further bits and bobs I might want to add or not have, and varying claim limits. No idea why the current best the broker I use can get me is £500. Must call them this morning and ask what’s driving the premium.

I actually got a decent deal at renewal this year.. when I say decent it went up.. but by less than I could find on price comparison

Having the most bizarre dreams.

My last 2 have been;

- having a weight loss bet with Phil Mitchell from Eastenders

- becoming world champion morris dancer

I swear on my daughters life that apart from my anti depressions, I haven’t been taking drugs

They really are VERY weird! Cheese before bed??!!

I like wine. I like wine that is full bodied and smooth not light and fruity. I don't like presumptious wine buffs that come out with crap like this. I mean, seriously????

The taste, style and character of Pauillac wine: The style of Pauillac wine is what many think of as textbook Bordeaux wine. The wines of Pauillac are rich, full-bodied and tannic. They have the uncanny ability to combine a regal character, with a sense of sternness and elegance.
They gracefully combine elegance with power coupled with complexity. The notable flavors of cassis, blackberry, tobacco, cigar box, spice, earth, lead pencil, cedarwood and wet forest aromas coupled with powerful wines, firm tannins, and regal bearings are what many people expect from Bordeaux, especially from the Left Bank.

Has anyone ever tasted a cigar box or a wet forest????? :rolleyes:

anyone want to go on a nice holiday to nice Dubai

I wouldn’t be seen dead in Dubai…it is the preferred holiday destination for the type of people who have an Audi on the drive of their “Executive-style living” Barratt-box house but are only one wage cheque away from having it all repossessed…..footballers go there too. ?

It’s one of the last places I’d visit
Absolutley embarrassing some of the comments here, I’ve been about 8 times in the last 13 years, no issues whatsoever, well looked after and kids even more so, unless you have been you should reserve judgement, easy to criticise without foundation.
